OMFG I had to go and check that this ACTUALLY happened.

Since when does the BBC ever do chyrons with a political party's branding, rather than their own? Not to mention this is during a pre-election campaign purdah.

From the link: "The term reconcentrados (reconcentration camps) was used for the first time for camps created by the Spanish Army in Cuba during the Ten Years’ War (1868–1878)."

Yes, the term was coined in 1896 but they were invented during the Ten Years' War in Cuba.

I'm not trying to deflect from anything, I was just correctimg your factually incorrect statement. And the Ten Years' War was a little more than three years before the Second Boer War.

What have I said or done that is racist?

It's not my fault you're ignorant on the subject.

CONCENTRATION CAMPS EXISTED LONG BEFORE HITLER CAME TO POWER Concentration camps have been used by governments on almost every continent over the last three centuries. Between 1933 and 1945, Germans built an extensive system of more than 44,000 camps.

Actually, they were invented by the Spanish Empire in Cuba during the Ten Years' War. They utilised them again in Cuba with Valeriano Weyler's Reconcentration Policy of 1896. This policy is where the term Concentration Camp gets its name from/ first coined.

Not gonna happen in your two-party state. The US needs a third party that actually exists in practice.

Brexit didn't stop immigration or fix the economy.

Farage told his supporters to back Boris Johnson in the 2019 General Election, and he fully supported Liz Truss's budget himself.

So why are Reform MPs telling us that the wrong Brexit was delivered and complaining about Britain being broken?...

Did you even read the article/ what Farage actually said?

And dissolving the Union is a good thing, not that Farage supports it.

They're both forms of ethnic cleansing.

Agreed, it's awful that they were used in the first place. More people should be aware of the British Empire's use of concentration camps.

That's fine, it's okay for you to be wrong.

Reservations were huge. They didn't have the population density of a concentration camps. They weren't purposes built camps. Nothing about the reservations remotely resembled actual concentration camps.

The idea of imprisoning perceived "enemy populations" goes back thousands of years. The first purpose built concentration camps were built by the Spanish in Cuba. American reservations were awful and horrendous but they weren't concentration camps.
