Brilliant haha
OMFG I had to go and check that this ACTUALLY happened.
Since when does the BBC ever do chyrons with a political party's branding, rather than their own? Not to mention this is during a pre-election campaign purdah.

From the link: "The term reconcentrados (reconcentration camps) was used for the first time for camps created by the Spanish Army in Cuba during the Ten Yearsβ War (1868β1878)."
Yes, the term was coined in 1896 but they were invented during the Ten Years' War in Cuba.
I'm not trying to deflect from anything, I was just correctimg your factually incorrect statement. And the Ten Years' War was a little more than three years before the Second Boer War.
What have I said or done that is racist?
It's not my fault you're ignorant on the subject.
Actually, they were invented by the Spanish Empire in Cuba during the Ten Years' War. They utilised them again in Cuba with Valeriano Weyler's Reconcentration Policy of 1896. This policy is where the term Concentration Camp gets its name from/ first coined.

This is truly desperate stuff from Sarwar. He knows Labour's campaign is failing badly.
Not gonna happen in your two-party state. The US needs a third party that actually exists in practice.
Keir Starmer canβt allow one vote on rejoining the EU after 10 years but not the other on Scottish Independence 12 years later!

You've falsely accused me of 'attempting to make a distraction' and have got the times wrong from my posts despite them being time stamped lol π. Wind your neck in and stop making a fool of yourself. I'm getting second hand embarrassment haha π
Brexit didn't stop immigration or fix the economy.
Farage told his supporters to back Boris Johnson in the 2019 General Election, and he fully supported Liz Truss's budget himself.
So why are Reform MPs telling us that the wrong Brexit was delivered and complaining about Britain being broken?...
I'll drink to that π»
The guy is confused and/ or looking for an argument.
I posted it 3hrs ago.
I posted it four hours ago you moron.
No it isn't. You've completely misunderstood. I unapologetically find you failing to understand the situation funny.
@bi99le5.bsky.social And was this also an attempt at a distraction??
@bi99le5.bsky.social Was this an attempt at distraction aye??
What the hell are you on about? Haha π€£
Arguably, it should be compulsory learning on the school syllabus.
Did you even read the article/ what Farage actually said?
And dissolving the Union is a good thing, not that Farage supports it.
They're both forms of ethnic cleansing.
Agreed, it's awful that they were used in the first place. More people should be aware of the British Empire's use of concentration camps.
That's fine, it's okay for you to be wrong.
Reservations were huge. They didn't have the population density of a concentration camps. They weren't purposes built camps. Nothing about the reservations remotely resembled actual concentration camps.
The idea of imprisoning perceived "enemy populations" goes back thousands of years. The first purpose built concentration camps were built by the Spanish in Cuba. American reservations were awful and horrendous but they weren't concentration camps.
Actually, concentration camps were invented by the Spanish Empire in Cuba during the Ten Years' War. They utilised them again in Cuba with Valeriano Weyler's Reconcentration Policy of 1896. This policy is where the term Concentration Camp gets its name from/ first coined.
