Is the Datenschutz in the room with us?

Being cold called by a sales person to then be asked whether they can send me e-mail.
Is this the Datenschutz we're talking about?
I had gotten locked out of Cuppin.gs because there was a mishap between URLs with a slash and without a slash at the end in Go. Trailing slashes proved to be a pain in Rust as well without a simple drop-in solution.
Django got this right twenty years ago.
Of course Sportschau cuts away from the live stream for some stupid segment they pre-recorded and Pogacar has a mechanical during that exact break.
German broadcasters should not air live sports events.
Do yourself a favour and don't get ice cream in the many overpriced places in the Gleisdreieckspark. Instead leave the park and go to this place "Insieme Gelato" which is great, still charges €2 per scoop and offers some fun menu items.

But to be more correct, none of this is “tiny”. Layout and legibility are the most important core features of a map even if they look tiny on the screen.
The care for these kind of minute details of map design is part of what makes Google Maps such a standout product. What products do you use day to day where the makers sweat out the tiniest of details like this.

Mayhem after the first pavé. Dutch guy Mike on the bike in the breakaway.
Prices for iPads are so out of whack that it doesn't make sense to get a mini (€200 more expensive) and we had to get a kid a big one.
After retiring the last iPhone and iPad we can finally get rid of all our lightning cables. It's immensely convenient to be able to plug in pretty much every device we own into the same cable.
Another German podcast (c’t) was where somebody would talk and the the host would paraphrase and summarize the speaker immediately after.
What is happening in communication in this country?
It would seem laudable to resist the assault on the working class the current German government is undertaking, so I listened to this episode of “Wohlstand für Alle”.
Is it a German podcast when two dudebros are lecturing monotonously for half an hour?

This was I think €20 but worth it at that price. It beats spending €4,80 for a mediocre flat white.
Trust me bro.
For beans and coffee Kolo Coffee as a roastery and shop proved to be excellent. An outpost of Ukrainian coffee culture in Berlin with beans that are a cut above what you would normally get in this city. I can’t wait to brew these every day.

With Scratch Kiezcafe we may just have a new coffee shop that’s a keeper in my area. Nice coffee, nice baked and great local vibes.

We dug up the old game boy and I had to nail a quick level 9-5 clear for the rocket launch.
Has there been a Stasi procedural half as good as Andor?
(In other words: Has German television ever done anything other than produce Tatort episodes?)
If I look at the dog owners congregating in our courtyard, I could't really conclude this.
Always nice to see a well behaved doggo.
I see dogs being tied outside of the supermarket for sure.
I've never seen this but I live in a relatively seedy part of town (though I won't tell you what was happening on the other side of this street in Staatslieden).
Being on a kids’ schedule I drank more than my fair share of mediocre to bad coffee in Amsterdam.
Sam’s koffie was very disappointing especially for the setting.

Actually well behaved dogs or dog owners are more or less non-existent in Berlin. Here’s a nice pup being told to sit and wait outside of a shop in Amsterdam who’s obeying.
Typical of German customer service to not share material facts with you but to refer you to some general terms and conditions you were given years ago. In a functioning country you don't have to read those because there is a layered information system on top of it.
Liev is a cute little coffee place offering a much needed alternative to the Scandinavian in this part of Amsterdam. The coffee is great. Definitely a place I’d come back to.

Not entirely sure how I missed Five Ways all this time on Boerhaaveplein but this is a stellar coffee place in an oddly tucked away corner in Amsterdam.
We caught them just before closing and grabbed some playground and sun after a day well spent.

We dropped by the Muizenhuis gallery/store which seems to have become a phenomenon.
The craft is done with care, the stories are fun and
of course it’s a great way to milk the nostalgia for an Amsterdam that’s barely more than the whiff of a memory.

After putting the kids to bed I run down the street to Utage most evening for a nightcap.
This sake “Kino 2” comes from a brewery in Mie that I seem to have walked past last November. It’s a super interesting sake and a funny coincidence.

I dug up my old Hero Quest set and sent it on to Berlin. Looking forward to playing this with my kids properly.
We had no idea what we were doing back then but it still was tons of fun. Also the satisfaction for my mother that all the things she saved are now being used again.
Coming from Berlin seeing the Rookvrij campaign everywhere is a bit jarring. I’m sure nobody follows these rules but still it’s nice to see that this is something people think is important.
Public health campaigns are rare in Germany where freedom trumps all else.
