Over a decade ago my wife was on a gluten dairy and egg free diet. I found a muffin recipe that she could really appreciated when I made them for her. I remember how hard it was to find for for her. Thai food seems to be low in gluten generally.

He is 72, so assuming you're about 50, he might have hit it about right.

I wish I had had a copy of this when learning SQL. 30 years and it's the first time I've seen a cogent explanation of how SQL works.

My electrician installed a cut out that only allows power to my car charger when there isn't some other load on at the breaker panel. Works wonderfully to allow my car charger to run while other high load items happen to be off.

Panel 1: we see Sundar Pichai, Mark Zuckerberg, and Elon Musk, against a blue background. Pichai says "You mustn't regulate A.I.". Zuckerberg says "Give the technology a chance!". Musk says "For the good of Humanity".

Panel 2: a guy with a big nose wearing a red shirt is typing in front of a computer screen, again a green background. He says "Y'all! A.I. is awesome!! I trained it to recognize all ads and automatically hide them!".

When can we leave? How long will we stay?

Listening to the audio version of Superconnector by Gerber and Paugh. I'm in chapter 12 where they talk about how to host events. I wish I knew years ago that it was possible to make a living doing that. Sounds like a dream job for me even as introverted as I am. #superconnector

How do you get it to run a whole bunch of ptys over it? I end up running screen or tmux at the remote machine when I want multiple ptys there.

Error reporting – Better Life Owing to Goodness

I've seen so many error messages that hide the useful information that could be used to correct it. The filename you couldn't open, the configuration option that wasn't right. If you throw exceptions or return an error at least tell me what the problem was.

Indeed. I'm currently building a system designed to use a CRDT as its backing store.

It's odd that the GOP is actually defending the police like the Black Lives Matter protests were asking back a few years ago.

If he's giving merit to high marriage and birth rate, it makes a bit of sense. Lol.

Conflict free replicated data types. I can feel they open so many new approaches and tech.

So, what skills does it require? I like the idea of htmx, but working on backend I've not yet had an excuse to try it out. If I require skills for it I don't have, I'd prefer to know before I do eventually try it out.

Polishing your Penmanship — Online Workshop

For a New Year's Resolution, I decided to improve my handwriting. I went through the videos at www.penmanship.com.au/start.html I went from making unreadable pen marks on the page (even unreadable to me) to nicely legible handwriting. Not yet beautiful but readable. Wish I had done it years ago.

I recently left a job that required the use of zsh on macs. Ctrl-U worked quite differently from bash. If your cursor is in the middle of the line it erases the whole line in zsh, but only letters to the left in bash. Didn't realize I used that feature in bash so much I had to use zsh.

A system for programming on cell phones (not really a language anymore). Zuv has me learning category theory while trying to keep interested in my day job.

The Right to Code – Better Life Owing to Goodness

I want to be able to program on my phone. But not just for me, for my kids as they start to program as well.
