Interesting! My work on 19th century women, Sulpician art, and the Sacred Heart would also imply that sentiment is a powerful motivator and connector.

Was French #abolitionism secular, unlike its well-known (and self-proclaimed unique) British counterpart? @papaerc.bsky.social (Damien Tricoire) & Jeremy Popkin (Un. of Kentucky) connect the French #Enlightenment to a longer history of Catholic-informed #Atlantic #antislavery 1/3

How a Canadian scientist and a venomous lizard helped pave the way for Ozempic - National | Globalnews.ca In 1984, Dr. Daniel Drucker, an endocrinologist from the University of Toronto, discovered a hormone that helped pave the way for popular diabetes drugs such as Ozempic.

Whenever you hear someone sneer about scientific research that seems useless to them — “they’re studying the spit of lizards?!” — remind them that’s exactly how we got Ozempic.

It takes years to build a science lab Productive science requires a great team, and that team develops together. That's one reason chaotic interference is dangerous for science.

"It takes years to build a science lab." New post from us.

"The long timelines to build up a team... make science research work different than many parts of the private sector."

Science is hard to build but easy to break. The uncertainty is right now breaking cancer research. 🧪

Is this the break the glass moment for university administrators who have been silent so far about the attack on science?

I have heard from multiple sources today that lawyers who provide Know Your Rights presentations in ICE detention centers have been kicked out completely.

These presentations are sometimes the only way people in detention find out details about the process they’re going through.
