I feel like going super heavy on detailing and overly complicated designs got pushed as "realistic." Especially with cgi. To me, though, the cleaner and more streamlined look of actual models feels far more real. If "could we build this as a model" were used as a guideline, it would be better.

It would be like having to read the crossover event books and every single issue put out by the company to understand things. You couldn't just, say, read the crossover and just Captain America and Thor without being lost. That happened in the MCU and has happened in comics occasionally, too.
For me, it was when it became clear that the MCU wasn't a shared universe, but one single giant piece of content cut up into a bunch of pieces that *all* had to be consumed to truly enjoy it. You couldn't pick and choose what parts you liked and wanted to engage with without missing out on a lot. 😔
In order not to break time and induce a Butterfly Effect, Time Travelers are on a slightly different plane when viewing the past. What people see as "ghosts" are actually little glitches in said technology where the time travelers are temporarily slightly visible or audible.
Endless waves of The Real World: San Francisco Pucks. That's what Reality TV became. Where he stood out as unique at the time, now a decent human would be just as unexpected and shocking.
Last Voyage of the Demeter meets The Mummy meets Ghost Ship? 😮

My variant cover for ACTION COMICS #1100!!!
This is one of my all time favorite covers.
I made it quite a while ago, not sure when it was coming out. I was thrilled and honored when I learned it was going to be released on this landmark issue of Action Comics! Whooo!

Heck yeah! I really need to rewatch that.
Kings. It was a really fascinating take on the story of Saul and David with an absolutely powerhouse cast. Alas, NBC failed miserably in marketing it, keeping it in one time slot, and giving it a legit push. I m8ss it even now.
A great show with a great cast that died far too soon. 😔

Just with comics, look at what the "public domain" of early mythology gave us: Thor and Wonder Woman and their backing Pantheons. Are they "lore accurate"? No. Are they absolutely amazing and have become pillars of comics? Yep! Now folks want to gatekeep the modern mythology of comics? No thanks!
Plus, Superman's official stories will still solely be released by DC. It isn't like the new independent things will be canon or required reading. I feel like, if anything, they'll expand the voices and perspectives that will be able to explore the character to the benefit of everyone.

A picture of Sir Ystin (the new Shining Knight) where they are covered in mud and blood and saying, "Excellent".
"Shining Knight"?! Like... the original or my beloved Sir Ystin?! I mean, I was already going to buy it just for Hawkgirl, but now? 🤘
Mannon - Vampire hunter
I've never heard of her/seen her before now! I wasn't actively reading comics when she debuted, but I'm going through a ton of Thor comics now and... I might have to track down the Thunderbolts run she's in! She seems absolutely delightful! 😅🥰

Some I haven't seen mentioned yet: Jeff Bridges and Beau Bridges, the plethora of Wayans siblings, and Oona Chaplin.

I wish there was more love for Age of Sigmar in the Warhammer posting, but 40k is acceptable. 😅
Carrots, a.. burger(?), and... no idea on the thin strip of stuff.
