Dusty was admitted last week after being found trapped in a drain pipe 💔🦔🐾

She was cleaned up, given fluids, and kept in an incubator to recover. Now doing well she has moved to a hutch and is being closely monitored 💚

He’s using a Mud Daddy lick mat to slow him down because he eats so fast 😅 Thankfully he’s responding really well to treatment for his eye infection and ringworm (a fungal skin infection) 💚🦔🐾

Calville was also seen following a strimmer injury to the side of his face/nose. The wound has been cleaned up and stitched. It was quite deep, and we are keeping everything crossed for him as we monitor him very closely. A huge thank you to St Clement Vets for their support 💚🦔

Vet visit yesterday for Cecelia, who had an X-ray revealing orbital fractures. Thankfully her jaw is okay. She is now on pain relief and antibiotics for an abscess on her lower jaw.
We’re really hoping she can pull through, but she still has a long road ahead 🐾

Introducing Dusty 🦔✨
Dusty came into us on Tuesday after being found trapped in a drain pipe on a building site. She was extremely hypothermic and dehydrated on admission.
Fast forward to now and she is almost unrecognisable, we’ll be sharing her full transformation soon 🫶

After just over 2 weeks of care, she’s now back where she belongs—out in the wild 💚

Kingston arrived with signs of head trauma, an injured eye, and ringworm. The good news—he’s now stable and has a great appetite! We’re hopeful he’ll keep progressing with treatment 🤞

This cheeky boy is currently on treatment for ringworm and a swollen hind foot. The swelling is being slow to respond to medication, so he’s a bit of a concern right now and is being closely monitored 🤞

It’s been a busy couple of days with 7 admissions since Monday! Crispin here is one of several entrapment cases, his front claws are very short and worn. He is now rehydrated and much brighter 🫶🦔🐾

A busy morning care shift today, the lovely Jazz has now completed her course of treatment and has graduated to an outside hutch to acclimatise before release 🙌

What a beautiful, blustery day for our official Hogspital launch on Saturday! We loved showing some of the charity's trust funders and partners around the new facility, which already has many hedgehogs on site receiving care 🦔🩺

Second admission today: Honeycrisp 🍎
After 24hrs of stabilisation at Pelyn Vets, she’s now in our care. She was originally found out during the daytime hypothermic and dehydrated but much brighter now 🫶

Our first admission of the day is Fuji who was found out during the daytime in Fowey. He is weak and in very poor condition. We’ve given subcutaneous fluids and settled him in 🤞
