yeah there are a lot of things abt hyperbolus that bug me. makes me wonder if gd would have a more active reviewing scene if there existed a good place to post them. the best we have is discord review channels and now hyperbolus but neither of those are very good imo

it's cool to see renewed interest in level reviews on hyperbolus but i fucking hate using it. so out of frustration i whipped this up in an afternoon. maybe i will make this real one day who knows

i can't really blame these people cause i was the same when i was younger; if you showed 13yo me a jackson pollock i would've called it stupid and meaningless. but it is annoying having my opinions dismissed even when i give my reasoning

i think ppl hate "soulless" because they can't understand how someone could like or dislike a level for aspects beyond the surface level. and since the term is usually used to criticize levels generally seen as good they assume contrarian assholes are just making up reasons to hate on good levels

i find it kinda silly how a clip of the levelution vid on twitter spawned so much hatred towards you but the comments on youtube are almost universally positive. it's almost as if when people engage with your reasoning they end up agreeing

every time a friend asks about a visual novel im reading i must brace myself for the hard truth that they will never read it. no matter how much i tell them the story is incredible and i think they will love it they just won't. and that is something i will have to live with
