‘Everyone is Replaceable’: Death Rattles Oregon Amazon Facility A worker died at Amazon’s Troutdale warehouse last week. Employees were told to look away.

For more than a week, Amazon has managed to keep a death at its Troutdale, Oregon, facility out of public view.

Workers I spoke to are pissed.

Cropped view of a graphic baseball style t-shirt being worn by a woman. Sleeves are blue, body is heather gray. A large graphic depicts an illustration of a rocket launching through space with Artemis and NASA logos on either side. The person is also wearing 2 blue glass bead necklaces.

Forgot I owned this shirt (purchased when I accompanied my ex to a test launch). Happy landings to the Artemis crew!

Right after Roe was overturned, every reproductive justice advocate I know warned that they’d be coming for contraceptives next. It’s happening. Pay attention.

Oregon Health Authority : Measles exposure location confirmed at Safeway in Portland : External Relations Division : State of Oregon Measles exposure location confirmed at Safeway in Portland

Not super excited about 4 days of measles exposure at my local grocery store. There have been several measles exposure events recently in the Portland metro. Please, please, please get your family vaccinated!

Not complaining, but now we have plenty of time for lunch. 😂

Y’all. It just took us 4 minutes to get though TSA screening at MSY.

Oh nooooo! Hope they figure it out and fix it quickly. (Yes, I know that’s a big ask, but I’m still asking the universe on your behalf!)

It will likely be a few years before it happens. Health care systems and government agencies are currently preoccupied with the coming Medicaid cuts. But you are welcome to come out at any time!

Of course it is. Nothing exists in an apolitical vacuum. Not even science.

Yeah. Super fucked up.

Yes! When he was state treasurer or whatever. I also remember his interview clips in that movie “Big Charity” where he spoke sensibly about the need for health care access. His abrupt change shows he’s nothing more than a spineless opportunist.

And the advent of PrEP has been amazing, but also means that pharmaceutical companies are more incentivized to develop that (customers for life) than a one-and-done vaccine.

Also adding to our continued failure to deliver an HIV vaccine is ol’ brain worm’s successful effort to crush all mRNA research being done in this country.

Remember when it was called GRID? Or risk factors were categorized as the 4 Hs (homosexual, hemophiliac, Haitian, or heroin user)? Dark times.
Development of an HIV vaccine is complicated from a biology perspective, but COVID showed us that where there’s a will, there’s a way.

The reason they can achieve this level of detail in Portland is because there are like 5 potholes here.

Not smallpox! 😝 Just some respiratory thing that’s been making me miserable for over a week.

Still dealing with this respiratory crud, but I had enough of an appetite to eat a full meal at dinner, so maybe things are starting to turn the corner?

Doctor says I should work half days for the rest of the week. Just capped off today with a 2 hour budget meeting. 😵‍💫

That article is paywalled, but I’m sure it’s possible. Lots of viruses going around.

I think I got over that and then got infected with a new, worse virus. 🦠

I honestly can’t remember a time in my adult life that I’ve been this sick. Fever for 7 days straight. Negative for all the usual suspects: COVID, Flu, RSV. 🤒 Going back to the doctor tomorrow.
