Hey wait didn’t a developer build your house?

A major housing bill that would discourage building rental homes “reflects a peculiar type of American populism that combines a right-wing fetish for suburbia’s homeowner society with a left-wing distrust of investment capital,” Henry Grabar argues.
Western carmakers are retreating from EVs just as oil hits $100 a barrel.
The parallels with Detroit in the 1980s are striking. They ignored fuel-efficient Japanese cars. Now they’re ignoring Chinese EVs.
BYD just unveiled 600-mile range and 250 miles of charge in 5 minutes.
Uhh, Michael Jackson? Wait no fuck
Working Coloradans are forced into long commutes because they can’t afford living in the communities they work in. The HOME Act (HB1001) would create more housing so that:
🍎 Teachers
🩺 Nurses
🚒 Firefighters
can afford to live in the communities they support. @yimbydenver.bsky.social #HB1001
Literally the only thing Jews agree on is that Jesus wasn’t God
SEE RIHANNA THE WORLD NEEDS YOU
Wake up babe new YIMBY rhetoric just dropped: We need to build more “yuppie containment towers”
I mean that’s basically filtering by another name, but also “yuppie containment towers” is amazing and I’m absolutely stealing that!
Also every left/lib I know loves e-bikes, high-speed rail, and the promise of electric aviation.
That’s why it’s good to support both rent control and new housing supply
They do not want AOC to win and see this as an opportunity to knife her
may have just scolded the lady next to me on this flight for leaving her trash in the seat right before we deplaned. “i don’t think you should leave your trash.” “who cares what you think” [observes she has a copy of the new york times in her hands]
@robertagreer.bsky.social and I wrote a ballot measure to bring more European-style buildings to Denver through zoning changes near Transit and Parks. Read about it here: archive.is/YNspf
Very astute:
"If America’s university presidents believe that their foremost responsibility is simply to keep their institutions operational ... they are mistaken. Much as lawyers are guardians of the rule of law, presidents and chancellors are stewards of intellectual freedom and democratic norms"
I truly believe this could be the most impactful policy change in Denver this century. If you agree, and are interested in helping out, please connect with me or David.
"Figures like Vance, Rubio, Cotton, and Lee are offering full-throated defenses of Trumpism on everything from the murder of Renée Good to taking Greenland. It’s clear that none of these people imagine anything like a post-Trump politics, even if the man himself should exit the stage."
A lot of pro-housing advocacy has pivoted to the state level, but implementing citywide zoning changes can still help get more housing built, like City of Yes in NYC.
So exciting to see a new ballot measure in the works in Denver to legalize more transit oriented development:
Yo Denver, check it out, and let me know if you'd like to help push this!
There are ample professional disincentives to spilling the inner workings of a court; even misconduct is rarely disclosed.
Only reason to demand NDAs is if the Justices are engaging in conduct so egregious that the legal profession would recognize the need for court employees to disclose it.
like it’s all just very very simple and yet here we are

I don't think that analogy works at all.
It's even infecting some of the big environmental orgs.
Look, there are people actually want Israel to genocide Gaza. Lumping in Bennet, who's been clear on the need to protect Gazan civilians, with those people just because he has different tactical ideas on how to reduce suffering in Gaza is just confusing voters for sectarian political gain.
No, the joke was that he was being *perceived* as doing genocidal things in Gaza. I guarantee you that Susan Dagett doesn't think her husband was helping perpetrate a genocide; the joke is, it's a little funny for people to say he's doing a bad job in the Senate and then also want to keep him there.
