The NDP will always welcome independent voters to vote for Dems at the federal, state, and county levels (referred to as an open primary). By contrast, the Nebraska Republicans only allow independents to vote for federal candidates.
By requesting a Dem Primary Election ballot, you can vote in the races above AND vote for all Dem candidates running for Congress, statewide (governor, attorney general, and secretary of state), and county races (sheriff, county attorney, treasurer, public defender, and others).
Currently, all independent voters can vote only in non-partisan races such as the NE Legislature, State Board of Edu, Board of Regents, school boards, natural resource districts, public power districts, community colleges, Learning Community Council (Douglas & Sarpy Co), and MUD.
