It's been a good while since I've posted, too long. Just before the holidays in December I had a back injury. It left me with persistent pain in my shoulder and numb hands for over a month.
Gladly, that's all over so regular weekly game updates will be flowing again!

Im an indie solo dev, implementing hot plug wasn't very hard at all. If I can do it in a few hours, I feel there is no excuse really. Full rebinding too. Supporting older sticks is much harder than any of that IMO.
Ice now shatters when hit by collision, chaining, causing more sweet destruction. Player safe!
Small game release today also has bug-fixes:
- Boss missile fix
- Option Mode reset fix
- L2B Weapon focus fix

Right - I was thinking replace continue button with dropping into practice mode just as convenience. Still separate difficulties.
Difficulty only at most very slight ease-in (first wave or screen at most -- sure) anything slower feels pedantic.
Continues seem only problematic if we don't reset scores and prevent hiscore. Lack of continues turns a ton of people off. Could drop them into practice mode instead, but curious your thoughts on this.
Escalation will feel best as a noisy curve. Flat, linear or pandering/ez all feel boring.
To me, all dogs are pups, no matter their age. 🥰
My long doggo Hazel is a Wippet Hound mix, 10. She has an immune condition called UDS that makes her look older.
She's a sweetie pups through and through and a total ham!

Bowling in an #STG / #shmup ?!
I spent today bowling! I figure a good physics test is you can bowl the enemies and strike with a direct hit. 🎳
1st version - objects switch to dynamic when hit.
2nd - they stay dynamic the whole time, ball follows through more.

Yes so this is using TextMeshPro, and so I made a shader based on the Bitmap Custom Atlas shader it uses, and created bitmap font atlas with the color separated gradients.
Custom Pixel Font & Gradient Effect shader. Working on the intro animation.
The font has color-channel separated gradients to allow shader to blend gradients - so you can select or animate any blend of colors you want - pretty sweet I think!

⛳️Hotfix Release - Update for Week 3 - Part 2 - Fixes for Stage 3 Lock-out, Hi-Score Screen staying up, Boss Explosion SFX volume correction.
Definitely coming together, character has a nice visual clarity so far. Keeping that while adding frames is a worthy challenge. Keep up the good work and have fun animating!

Used Fast Tracker 2 and Jeskola Buzz a lot years ago. Modern DAW and VSTs just dont come close.

Made this new Plasma special effect today. What should I call it? "Plasma Bomb"?
This special has a shorter bullet cancel time than Mega-Bomb, but does more damage near the focus point.
