#writers #authors is your new year's resolution to write more (consistently)? Do you want a word tracker, that's fully human made?
And (most importantly) is COMPLETELY FREE?
this might be for you then ☺️
(Obviously human made. no AI was involved in this)

For #WIPWednesday a quick reminder that I'm still looking for Beta testers ❤️❤️
Want a cool reading journal that can track books, fanfics and papers? This is for you!
Hashtags for the algorithm :)
#readers #reading #ReaderSky #readersOfBluesky #BookSky #books #scienceSky #sciSky #audiobooks #fanfic #fanfics #ao3 #wattpad #fanficReaders #readingTool #ReadingTracker #bookjournal #science #betaTestersWanted #NoAI #FuckAI #HumanPowered
It comes with extra Gimmicks, such as an import function for Goodreads and StoryGraph, an overview of everything you have read this year, and an archive.
So if you want to beta test this, comment below or drop me a DM and I will choose a few this weekend.
(It currently runs on windows only)
Screenshot of a program called Reading Tracker showing the tracking page. It's 9 boxes with green bars in them to different lengths, that track books, fanfics. Papers, true pages, pages, true minutes, minutes, true words and words. Below is the explainer that True pages/minutes/words are what you have actually read. The other are estimates, converting everything into the respective format. Conversion applied here: 1 page = 300 words, 1 page = 2.2 minutes, 1 minute = 150 words. A text around this reads "Make everything you read count towards your pages minute and word goal"
The other main part of this is that every time you enter a new read It will do a page to word to minute conversion.
And if you set a goal in the beginning, you can track
Books, fanfics, papers, the actual pages, minutes, words and a combined total for pages, minutes, words.
Screenshot of a program called Reading Tracker showing the Calculator page. On top you can enter the length you want to convert and the starting unit as a drop down menu, currently set to pages. And you have a button to calculate length. Below you have the results, currently showing. That's 0 pages! that's 0 words! That's 0 hours and minutes! That's 0 books! And at the bottom it lists the conversion rates used for this calculation as 1 book = 350 pages, 1 page = 300 words, 1 page = 2.2 minutes, 1 minute = 150 words. (Rounded) A text around this reads "comes with a fun calculator. So you always know just how many books you binge read last night (in the form of omegaverse fanfic)
One of the main features for this is a calculator that can help you convert between pages, hours and minutes, words and books.
It's a fun little gimmick, and gives you a rough estimate of just how many books that one omegaverse fic you binge read last night would equate to. :)
Screenshot of a program called Reading Tracker. The start page with a header that currently reads "You have read 0 books 0 fanfics 0 papers this year. It then has 4 rows where you can fill in Author, Other Authors, Title and finished on in row 1, pages. Hours:minutes, Words and Ref (ISBN, DOI, Link) in row 2, unpublished Work (incl. Preprints, beta read,...) in row 3 and a drop down to select your format, currently set to printed book and Rating. On the bottom it has 3 by 2 empty blocks labeled books, fanfics, papers and pages. Minutes words, for tracking. A Text above the screenshot reads "Easy to Use - Simple design"
It's designed as a reading journal, where you track your material after you have finished it.
It does not currently work well as a daily reading tracker.
But it does work for all kind of materials, including things that aren't fully published yet, so you can't easily track it elsewhere.
Screenshot of a program called Reading Tracker showing the "First Time Set Up" page. Where you can select What you are reading (options being printed books, audio books, fanfiction, papers) and What you want to track (options being books currently set to 20, fanfics currently 50, papers currently 100, pages currently 5000, minutes currently 100:00, and words, currently one million) with a note that: "this tracker has a conversion between pages, minutes and words and can track all of these as estimated totals across all formats (the goal here should be for the actual pages/minutes/words you want to read). A text around the screenshot reads "new reading tracker. For tracking pages, minutes and words, books, fanfics and (scientific) papers
So over the past few months I have been working on exactly this. A reading tracker that lets you track
-books, (both text based and audio based)
- fanfiction
- (scientific) papers
Or just
- pages,
- minutes,
- words
All in one place.
Screenshot of a program called Reading Trackers showing a "First time Set Up" page in the background with a purple banner in front reading: beta testers wanted
(Beta testers wanted, more details in thread)
Okay. What's the worst part about reading?
Exactly! Having nowhere to track all of the stuff you read in one place.
Why be boring and only track #books, if you could also have a place to track all your #fanfics. Or all your #science research?
Hey.
I'm working on a fun little reading tracker.
And I need help!
Anyone here on Goodreads that reads audiobooks and printed/eBooks?

I have just made the discovery of the century!!!!
If you place your hold on the second book in the series, when you're starting the first, you don't have to wait as long for the second book when you finished the first one!!!
🤯🤯🤯🤯
(/j) 😃😃
Well I just got my 10th kudos on an absolutely terrible fanfic I wrote, soo. Best day :)
Might write more of these terrible fan fics, they're fun 😃😃
Look. It's queer games for you 🥰
Two panel meme. Upper one shows two red buttons. One reading "Make More money by having more transactions" the other one reads "Pressuring itch dot Io to suppress fully legal content". Panel below shows a carton man in a red shirt profoundly sweating over what to choose and a text reading PayPal, Mastercard, Visa, ...
It is slightly confusing to me, that a handful of Australians is all it takes to apparently completely disrupt the business model of multi billion companies.
(And yes I know most of them don't make money by transactions, they make money by funding fossil fuel infrastructure, but still)
IT IS HERE!!!
WRITERS REJOICE, SALVATION IS NEAR 😂😂😂😂
I made a very easy to use, very elegant Word Count Tracker, that supports daily, monthly, and project writing goals. It also has an automatic writing streak counter! And it supports up to 8 active projects.
#WritersOfBlueSky
Get it here:

#WIPWednesday.
#AuthorsOfBluesky rejoice.
The best word count tracker since NaNoWriMo is coming to you, SOON!
currently prepping everything on itch io :)
#Writers #Authors #AuthorSky #WriterSky #writing #WritingTips
#WIPWednesday I am currently building an Excel based word count tracker for #WritersOfBlueSky. :)
And today's improvement included adding the option to have your daily word goal automatically calculated from your project goal and project deadline. :)
It's coming along very nicely!
Hey quick question.
I wanna start writing fanfic.
How long does it normally take for the AO3 curse to hit? Cause I also have a friend coming over next week. When can I risk start writing? 😃😃
#AO3 #AO3Curse #Fanfic #FanficWriters #AlsoIsThisForPublishedFanficsOnlyOrDoesThisAlsoIncludeDrafts?
Screenshot of the project page. It has space for the title on the left and a list of days and words written, as well as a little graph. You can set your goal for the project and a deadline. You also got some space to write down notes. The 5 sentence method breaks down your storyline into 5 story points. For a nice pacing these correspond to a percentage of the book when they should hit. This project pages gives you the overview on the percentage. And what that is in word counts for your project. And then has a line for each of the 5 story points so you can have them and check against that. They are. The inciting incident. Leaving home. The midpoint reversal. The beginning of the end. Conclusion. At the bottom you have a project specific progress bar :)
The Project pages are based on @rebeccathorne.bsky.social's 5 sentence method for outlining your novel! It also has a graph showing your writing progress and some space for notes :)
It's currently in beta testing, to make sure it doesn't break on random things, but it'll be yours soon :)
A screenshot of the basic layout of this word count tracker. Titled Welcome! You are on a 0 day streak! Keep writing 😊 On the left you have space for up to 8 projects and on the right you have an overview on your monthly and daily goals, and the monthly and daily written words. On the bottom are three progress bars for your monthly/daily and project progress. In the middle you have some space for some more Infos and a box to enter your daily word count in.
Hey Writers of BlueSky!
My current WIP is for you!
I made an Excel Based Word Count Tracker.
You just give it a monthly goal and it will automatically tell you the daily word count you should hit for that. It has a nice little progress bar and supports multiple different projects :)
Look:
Just how fine? Well you better go and get yourself a copy of "Green-Eyed Monster" by Rawnie Sabor now and find out :)
www.amazon.com/Green-Eyed-M...
And well. Taking a greater fiend to a clandestine meeting with other witches to trade rare ingredients behind the backs of the arcane guilds is definitely going to work out just fine.
Vex being close to Angela is *definitely* going to work out *fine*
So of course she ends up on the watchlist of some very powerful people. Powerful people that want her gone.
The court is obviously aware of this, and so they decide that she needs a bodyguard.
A bodyguard that only a few months ago has tried to break into the court and destroy everything. Vex.
Angela might be the most powerful witch in the world, but only because she broke nearly every rule in witchcraft. The most important of which is to never work with the enemy. Yet here she is, working with the Court of Chains. The one place where fiends can run freely.
And worst of all: She's working on some grand secret project. Something about binding fiends. Vex is convinced Angela is working on something evil. She's a witch after all. But to proof this, vex has to get through the many layers of protection Angela is constantly wearing.
Given that they are the only ones who can actually bind and control a fiend against their will, this is very understandable.
And then there is Angela. The most powerful witch in the world, and she uses that power to completely block out any fiendish influence. Nothing can get through to her.
Urgh you want actual information about what's happening in the book? FINE. (/j)
Angela is probably the most powerful witch in the world. And all she wants to do is to help others.
Vex is envy incorporated. Literally. And as a greater fiend vex hates witches and warlocks more than anything.
If you, too, are looking for a very stabby FMC, I can and will recommend you pick up "Green-Eyed Monster" by Rawnie Sabor, out TODAY!!
www.amazon.com/Green-Eyed-M...
Let's just say I've been looking for some "touch her and die" tropes where the FMC is the stabby one and I am having very high hopes for the next chapter. 😃 Update: the hopes were justified 😍
Hello #BookSky 💙📚🌈
A book I did an ARC read for is released into the wild today :)
And I could tell you that it's a fun little sapphic romance. A good enemies to lovers. With a health amount of spice in it. And a very fun plot to engulf the spice in :)
Or I can just show you this discord message
