Happy to report that Digimon Beatbreak is still very good and more people should be watching it
This definitely goes for games and people working in loc in-house at Japanese devs. If someone doesn't publicly mention a fan project, you shouldn't bring it up to them. Whether they do actually know about it or not, they may technically be obligated to report such things to their company's lawyers.
I want to retract this list, I had an epiphany while making popcorn:
My entry for "Criminally Overlooked" is Fairy Ranmaru. It's tragic how poorly that show did.
One Piece is kind of an anomoly in general so that goes without saying though I am curious what the magazine will look like when it's finally over in the next 5 to 8 years. (Of what's currently running, Ichi the Witch seems the likeliest to still be around by then)
I mean in that most of their biggest titles have either ended or are on their way out, and with a couple of exceptions, there aren't exactly a lot of stable looking replacements
the manga industry. It's rough
Ultimate Exorcist Kiyoshi (though considering Demon Slayer struggled in JUMP before it's anime launched it into the stratosphere it's always possible that could happen again with one of these). Even One Piece has taken a bit of a hit in volume sales with physical manga sales declining across
of theoretical international success. Everything else that's managed to survive over the last couple of years has either done so by the edge of their teeth like Ultimate Exorcist Kiyoshi and Hima-ten or are extremely modest successes by JUMPs usual standards like with Nue's Exorcist or
Of the series without anime adaptations the only ones that have been actual runaway successes are Kagurabachi, Ichi the Witch, and Someone's Hertz and with that last one being a romance series centered around the subject of Japanese comedy radio, it's probably not likely to enjoy the same level
Most of the big hitters of the past decade have either ended or have maybe a year or two left of their serialization and while having new series regularly meeting the sting of Shonen Jump's axe isn't anything new, they've been having even more trouble than usual getting stuff to stick
Considering the extent to which Shonen Jump adaptations have replaced anime originals as the shows with big blockbuster productions, the landscape in 3 to 5 years could get kinda wild since Shonen Jump (the main magazine anyway) is kind of in the middle of a mini dark-age right now
There's quite a bit I only know by reputation, so I'd say it looks pretty unique 😆

once again, it is to reiterate, the trump administration truly believes they can do anything they want with zero consequences, and so far there have been zero consequences
The problem isn’t that these corporations are not profitable. They are absurdly, mind boggling profitable. They make more money in some years than the GDP of entire nation’s decades.
The problem is that they don’t want to pay people and never have.
Good thread on the entitlement of some sections of western anime fandom
[Review] After Coco’s discovery that spells can be drawn by anyone, she’s given a concrete example as to why that’s not necessarily a good thing. But do you blame the girl or do you blame the system that forbade her from learning in the first place?
if you're gonna not completely remove the incest just make alex a girl and turn it into problematic yuri
don't be a coward
Vacation over. Here's some anime to watch.
1. Find a clearly unwell, insecure, neurodivergent person trying too hard
2. Point and laugh
3. Mainstream international media joins in the dogpile, writes thinkpieces about Kids Today
4. Person inevitably self harms
5. everybody goes "oh shit"
repeat
When talking about Paramount removing ‘Aang: The Last Airbender’ from theaters and its subsequent leak, Matt Braly revealed another status: the studios don’t know how to make money because they're just overall a giant money laundering scheme.

#65. Ed Edd n Eddy’s Big Picture Show
Whatever shortcomings I could mention about this movie are insignificant next to the amount of charm and heart and chutzpah this has to wreck its own status quo in such a bombastic way.
I love this movie. It’s the perfect finale.
Definently makes some of the weaker parts of season 5 worth it
