I built AI ticket triage into StayUpfront yesterday. Decided including a backup provider could wait a little. Less than 24 hours later the endpoint is giving 500 errors ... so I will be revisiting that decision!

I'm shocked at how effective the triage is, can't wait to launch it! #buildinpublic

What's the first thing you do when a SaaS tool you rely on goes down? Check their status page? Search socials? Email support? Genuinely curious. #saas

I'm a pretty quick typer but I've been giving MacWhisper a go for replacing text input on my computer and I have to say I'm pretty impressed. Not so great in a cafe, but pretty nice when I'm at home. Somehow I feel less critical of myself when I'm speaking instead of typing.

This. You slowly learn to use it little by little, see the flaws, see the benefits – go too far, and then have to reign yourself back in. Rinse and repeat with each model update 🤣 Welcome to the bleeding edge.

Building this. When something goes wrong, your customers need a status page that's actually up to date, a way to report issues, and clear communication throughout. That's what Stay Upfront brings together

Made a ton of progress on the support ticket tooling this week — can't wait to show more of what I'm building!

What did you ship this week?

Jobs' line about saying no to the hundred other good ideas hits a little harder when you've got a magical mystery box that can build anything you ask for. Staying focused has never been more important.

I try not to rush into building anything, I let the idea percolate for a bit... but if I keep coming back to the idea, that's generally a good sign that it's worth spending some time on. Often it's useful to "fail fast" and realise it's more complicated than originally thought!

I always knew quick side projects were valuable for learning — I just rarely made time for them. Now it's super easy to spin up something meaningfully useful. Building a small tool to explore a new technology pays off when you tackle the bigger, more complex product

You know that thing where you build something and it works, but then you can't stop yourself tweaking it until it feels right? That was me and the incident page. Pretty happy with where it landed

Apparently the Claude Code team are investigating people hitting usage limits "quicker than expected" .... I was fully prepared for full conspiracy theory mode here www.reddit.com/r/ClaudeCode/comments/1s...

For all the extraordinary productivity gains, there is an outside chance that Claude makes it just a little too easy to build something to scratch an itch / distract yourself from harder UX problems #buildinpublic #neobrutalism #claudecode

TikiBarTV and Diggnation were so good back in the day. It was always wild to me that all the big players seemed to cede to YouTube so completely.

Project Hail Mary was as great as I hoped… knew very little about it going in, and loved it!

Running multiple app instances with Tailscale – Rob Gough

Quick blog post on how I'm using Tailscale to allow me to work with more than one app instance at once robgough.net/multiple-app...

Why on earth did they not implement dual-camera (front+back) photos on the iPhone while they implemented that feature for video?

Not sure if I somehow unselected it myself, but my claude code was not set to auto-compact. Turning that on has definitely improved the experience #buildinpublic #buildwithai #claudecode

Weighted Down

I've just launched my new web app! For anyone currently on a journey with their weight, but not finding one of the great many apps that are currently out there quite to their taste.

I've been doing some vibe coding over the weekend, and I've been finding Claude Code to be hitting the limits far quicker than it was last week – anybody else noticing this, or is it just me?

Has anyone had Apple Reminders add entries that were definitely from yourself? I've had a weird religious one added to a non-standard list (Company Ideas) ... and I can't imagine I was listening to anything along these lines for Siri to pick up, but even if – how would it have added the emoji?

FFS the upcoming, and undetailed, price increases for Mounjaro have caused panic buying at the current price. This has meant there are stock issues. Thankfully I'm only one week into this pen, but through Asda as I write this I cannot re-order my current dose 🤬

If a CostCo cake would suffice, then ASDA I'd expect to have one that would that would be fine 🍰

Oh wow, not a lot of calories that! I'm honestly still struggling to stay in the 1800-2000 range (I am now tracking again). Did plateau last week, but back to losing again so far this week. I wrote some notes up on my blog. Zero side effects in week 2, so now wondering whether to up dosage.

I had some advice to make sure you get before photos too — as changes can appear not just on the scales, and it’s good to have the evidence to convince yourself! Congrats though, first jab is the hardest as they say ;)

I was actually worried it was going to dull my taste/enjoyment of food but that isn’t the case at all … actually quite the opposite, it’s just easier to enjoy things in moderation

I took the advice to have plenty of water seriously and have thankfully been mostly side effect free, and went abdomen for what it’s worth. One day I thought I might be getting a headache (more from not eating enough I reckoned) but a bite to eat and some paracetamol sorted me right out.

Wait, where are you supposed to put speakers?! Have I been doing it wrong this whole time?! No wonder I keep losing AirPods 🤣
