I love critically engaging with the media I’m going through, it makes it so much more fun for me. It’s why I love knowing the development history and whatnot of games, cause that can completely change my perspective of them.

My specs are solid too, and I’ve never had an issue with performance specifically, just crashing (specifically in the forest and when a vine trap triggers in the desert), so I dunno what’s up 😅

Wish my game didn’t crash so often playing it 🥲 it’ll crash every like 3 or 4 hours or so and it’s very sad

After having played some of FE4 again after experiencing older fire emblems.

I have to say. It genuinely is a pleasant experience. I wish the story was told in a better way, but that’s mostly due to limitations of the SNES.

I still have some issues with it, but overall, maybe I’ll actually finish

Been playing the new rune factory game, and honestly? This is kinda what I expected with the transition from 2D to 3D.

It still has some stuff that’s a bit iffy (I’m not a big fan of the villager stuff, but I’ve been doing the farming myself, so it’s okay and the DLC binding events), but is fun

And don’t get me wrong, I love emulation. But I will never shit on someone for not wanting to emulate if they don’t want to step into the legal grey area or just don’t have the resources to buy and dump their own games. There’s also something like FFT, where you could emulate the original, or WOTL

There exists space for both.

As for gameplay, something like, say, Xenosaga remade today with blade mechanics expanding characters and combat would be excellent. However, there’s also a space for the original Xenosaga and what it brings to the table.
