As I to do my own writing, I try to remember that drama is not only good for the story, but can come from sources other than raised eyebrows.
Instead, Hickman and Schiti take the opportunity to inject drama, and subsequently reinforce the atmosphere. The reaction is shown in text, but the intensity is shown in the exaggerated dress ruffles, the speed lines, the fully obscured face, and the shattered glass.
Based on that description you could expect a set of (also good) panels like these from the same issue.
Background. We have a scene where the mere mention of a known character (the audience has seen the referenced character before as a powerful but even tempered being) cause one of the otherwise amoral, uncaring characters to recoil.
Something I plan on stealing from Jonathan Hickman and Valerio Schiti is the ability to add drama to otherwise normal storytelling beats. I’m looking at G.O.D.S #3.

Into the void I’m exclaiming that I’ve penciled the first page of my comic book short story. It’s not a lot, but it’s not nothing.

Recent warm ups.
The first in a series of four panels that depict DC Conics character Shadowfall summoning light arrows from the sky. From the currently ongoing New Gods series with art by Evan Cagle.
I simply think she’s cool.
I enjoy drawing out key moments of my current DnD run.
His name’s Hoarson; an Aasimar that means well, but can’t seem to make moves correctly (partly due to faulty dice)
Some thumbnail ideations for this one. I caught myself going for the most “drawable” option for this one instead of my actual favorite.
A part of my DnD character series where my Aasimar confronts a jackalwere.
