This one took far longer than it should have.

I tried to be a bit subtler with lighting on this one. I had a little too much fun rendering the abs, and then suffered through rendering the hands before giving up and just throwing them into shadow.

@gausswolf.bsky.social suggested I try a different style of sheath.

Something different today. I found some bold charcoal portraits by Josh Hernandez and some captivating wildlife art by Craig Werkheiser. Those inspired me to try something a bit messier and traditional-looking.

YCH for the gorgeous @werewolf.gay, whom I selected because I was dreading the braids and metallic jewelry... which meant I needed to practice them.

Tried a different approach to the values, but I'm not thrilled with the outcome. I think I'll go back to finding the terminator lines before attempting to work out the composition, even if I usually have to try multiple light directions.

Yesterday's practice was soft, so I decided today's would be hard. :3

This one took a lot longer to render with the more complex anatomy and soft lighting, but I'm very happy with the result.

Sorry, this is just a hobby, one I'm still learning. I don't intend to ever take commissions. However, I plan to do free art for people once I get sufficiently good.

I still need a lot painting over that to make it look good, but that gives me colors to work off of and sample from.

I think I've finally honed in on a process for adding color that doesn't require me to guess so much.
