#larp 2/2
Between people who actively resent any attempt to enforce costume standards, toxic competitive attitudes, and a win at any cost mentality, it wasn't fun anymore.

#larp
I retired from battle games this year. I already miss the central premise. Boffers give you options you don't safely get in hard suit, and I miss being actually hit and not having to pull every shot.
But I'm so happy to be done with the culture. 1/2
Fetterman has turned out to be a massive disappointment. He is a different person, for the worse, after his stroke.
Watched a video review of DFUS. It was pretty fair, but one thing that stood out- the reviewer, fairly, called out people fighting who treated DFUS like a video game, but then went on to complain about guilds not being available at all times.
Wanting to treat players as Skyrim NPCs is peak vidya.
Larps that advertise themselves with AI should not be trusted to be able to produce a good larp. If you cant muster basic-bitch advertising material like photos or other content, you cant be trusted to collaborate with a ton of people, places, and logistics without cutting corners.
Honestly I'm grateful that the #larp tag isn't just people using as an insult anymore.
Calling some dick a larper for the sort of poseur behavior that dominates our politics is valid, but I also want to actually engage with larp content, not just read about another rw loser.
I don't know, have you ever just tried maybe, not being shitty? ๐คทโโ๏ธ
Characters my child has made up in the last 24 hours:
Beep Boop Robot Princess- exists to live in her ice castle and chase 'The Boy'
Bok Bok Wah- a human baby/chicken hybrid who lives at daycare.
7th grade quote of the day, shouted at max volume in a reasonable NYC mobster accent 'I'LL GIVE YA TWO DOLLAS TA POOP IN THA JAR'
(We're reading about Typhoid Mary so it was actually pretty on topic)
As I've transitioned more to plot driven larp, I've found the hardest part is keeping stuff you're planning secret so you're not spoiling things, particularly when you're super excited and want to gush about your ideas to anyone who will listen.
