The fact that nobody seriously believes there is an institution in this country that will check the president—that we’re all just sitting here hoping that he gets distracted and fails to follow through on his genocidal threats—is the most damning indictment of our political system I’ve seen yet.

"We also need to address the dehumanization that persists in every single aspect of American life... that has sent us down the path in which Trump can threaten to annihilate a civilization & we find ourselves with few answers about how to stop it."

Honestly, I need to be better about making fundraising appeals to social media. So here's me doing it this month.
Just $5/mo helps ensure that we can continue to make movement media that people call "enjoyable, accessible, and essential" for facing our political moment.
Rynn and I chatted with @convergencemag.com about the Texas and Illinois primaries, AI data centers, and more.

The Rad Ops Podcast is premiering their full-length episodes, starting with today's, with Che Johnson-Long of @visionchangewin.bsky.social. Pleased to be producing this timely, essential show at @convergencemag.com! convergencemag.com/podcast/safe...
I feel so uneasy knowing I have friends and colleagues who are basically snowed in and in the meantime it's about to be 90 degrees out in my neighborhood today. In March.
I identify with this
I've been thinking a lot about what this does to our ability to remember (and historicize)! www.therevivallab.org/memory-again...
The newest Revival Letter is out! Cayden Mak (@catachresis.bsky.social), Publisher of @convergencemag.com provides a powerful essay on the importance of memory as a tool to fight against authoritarianism. www.therevivallab.org/memory-again...
Heartbreaking news.
House hearing on fake "kids safety" censorship bills happening right now. Call your lawmakers!!!!

And Substack is proudly partnering with one of them
Been thinking a lot about building communities online that can stand disagreement and debate. I don't think any social media site that replicates existing dynamics can be It...but do you belong to a community online where you feel like people handle disagreement in healthy, even productive ways?
ICE operations increasingly resemble Israeli occupation. That’s no coincidence
U.S. immigration enforcement has long cultivated ties with Israel. Now it adapts algorithmic surveillance tactics from Gaza for use on American streets.

Essential reporting. The fascist crackdown on immigrants is a crackdown on the right to organize itself.
A beautiful acknowledgement of the ongoing devastation and heartbreak in Gaza. Thank you @thenation.com
Spoiler alert: it's not really about the Epstein Files. It's about building survivor-centered systems that meet people's needs, prevent exploitation, and address harm.
I had the conversation I wish more people would have about the Epstein Files last week with @shannonperezdarby.bsky.social and @chanellegallant.bsky.social. convergencemag.com/podcast/prev...
"Opportunistic politicians, sensationalist media outlets, class action attorneys—residents affected by the 2023 Norfolk Southern train derailment and chemical disaster have been exploited by everyone and helped by hardly anyone." via @maximillianalvarez.bsky.social
two federal agents in fatigues point at protesters and onlookers who are recording them
community members and journalists flee an alley where chemical irritants have just been deployed
members of the minneapolis police department stand in a line at the corner of portland and 34th
members of MPD escort a black van down portland avenue
some photos from portland and 34th today. we'll have a story up on racket soon. they gassed us, they knocked folks to the ground, and i watched agents ram a white pickup into a group of protesters, if you're wondering who was actually doing car violence.
The focus on training misses the mark. Yes, many federal agents are sloppy and unprepared, but years of organizing against police violence have taught me that more training doesn't stop violence. It just makes the death-making more respectable (sometimes) and more expensive.

They're using the confinement box, one of the most horrific methods of CIA torture in the post-9/11 black sites, against migrants now. This is the direct result of the lack of consequences for the architects of the torture program. Either there will be criminal penalties for this or it will expand.
Yeah, thank you -- in a lot of ways I do think it was very much entering a new grief stage that is more settled. I'm also actually being treated for ADHD, which has really improved my sense of self-confidence!
I turned 38 in January of this year and I can't explain it but I feel like I'm officially "middle aged" for the first time. I also feel like I aged A LOT in the last 5-6 years, mostly due to losing both my parents.

I missed actual #MovementMediaMonday, but it's also #GivingTuesday. I get that there's a lot going on, but I also think the slow media we produce at @convergencemag.com is crucial to making space for thinking and reflection that will see us through this moment and help shape the next.
Nothing gives me bigger heebie jeebies these days than promoting my own shit, which is wild considering I literally host a livestreamed podcast almost every Friday. But we are piloting a new fellowship program in 2026 and raising $10k this month to fund it.
