It's official: #Rays say they have signed OF Jake Fraley, who was non-tendered last week, to a one-year contract. Fraley, 30, was originally drafted by the Rays 77th overall back in 2016.

Cash was asked about his Opening Day starter options: "I'm gonna get on a two and a half hour ride home, and we'll talk through it on the phone with Eric (Neander). I think, right now, we're pretty positioned where just about all of them (Pepiot, Rass, Littell, Baz, Taj) are available to do that."

Kevin Cash on Shane McClanahan’s triceps injury: “Very unfortunate. He’s going to miss some time. We’ll have a better understanding once he gets some imaging done. You feel for the person, just for what he’s gone through...fingers crossed, it’s a shutdown of minimal time.”

Fittingly, Mac looked like vintage Sugar Shane in today’s session. Kevin Cash said he reached 94-95 mph on the radar gun:

“I think that's a pretty easy highlight for the first day,” Cash said. “To see him throwing off the mound and looking like himself…we're fortunate that he's healthy and back.”

#Rays ace Shane McClanahan said “last year sucked” in having to rehab from TJ surgery and miss competing with his teammates, but he’s fully back with no limitations:

“I missed it a lot, man,” Shane said. “…I feel good and I’m ready to go. Actually got a bullpen today, so excited to show the world.”
