If there is a point to being human, it probably is something stupid like writing poems and songs. So go write your book. Do your part.
Have just read Matthew Rice's Plastic so the first section was very much 'ah I'm reading more poetry about work!'
This is my weekend reading also - loving it so far

Spending Sunday morning writing a poem attempting to unpick some of my feelings about technology. I had one published in the latest @frazzledlit.bsky.social as well www.frazzledlit.com/p/two-poems-.... Definitely a theme I keep returning to...
Would recommend picking up Necrosmologies while its on sale (or even if it wasn't)...alternate realities, strange creatures and an industrial setting, what more could you want?
Thanks Cole, glad you liked it

The cover of the FUEL anthology of prize-winning flash fictions raising funds to fight fuel poverty, with a brightly-coloured petrol pump, and a banner on the right hand side saying "Ebook with 12 bonus prize-winning stories". Edited by Tania Hershman
Today is #FuelPovertyAwarenessDay so why not pick up a copy of the FUEL anthology of prizewinning flash fictions - it's a great read and profits go to four #fuelpoverty charities, including @nea.org.uk. The brand new ebook has 75+12 bonus stories = 87 flash stories! Buy here: www.fuelflash.net
Really interesting stuff: "the architecture of disordered discourse"...
Yeah a world away from Hit The North! A proper Fall baptism by fire that
:-). Second purchase was witch trials on tape...bought in your neck of the woods (on a trip to watch Burnley play) and then inflicted on my very tolerant Dad on the car ride home over the Pennines! I'm sure it was raining and dark, but maybe I'm imagining that for maximum Fall effect.
Probably maybe my favourite Fall album (today anyway)...certainly the first one I bought. A fine choice to start with.
