I'm in recovery (booze) and I've had to pass on a job opportunity bc it would have required a security clearance and it was made clear to me that my past history of addiction would make it impossible to get the clearance.

Why am I, basically a nobody, held to a much higher standard than them?

Trump not drinking I believe. He saw his older brother drink himself to death and talked (long, long ago when he was somewhat sane) about the pain of that and how it affected him. So this is the one thing I've ever felt he's been really honest and introspective admit.
