I guarantee you, with champions being the official game for VGC this year and next year, you'll see a gigaton more players signing up for regionals and qualifying for worlds than in the past 5 years at least.

I started competitive pokemon with gen 5 as well tho id spend a lot more time on it with gen 6 so I totally agree with u. By the time Sun and Moon rolled around i said fuck it,copied the stat spread from one of my showdown teams and asked a friend to gen it

On this specific note, i bet a big reason TPCi made champions is cuz of the many... many hacked teams that were present in the past 2 years cuz people would rather save time and generate their teams instead of wasting precious study sessions on the IV grind.
