I held onto the same hope, but I'm sorry little one the author has kinda just literally confirmed and stated multiple times "Tails is dead" on their tumblr. At the very least, they acknowledge that it is not just because and is going to play a MONUMENTAL role (I mean that's his brother after all)

tumblr i find is pretty friendly, and where i've found a lot of artists that are really cool to talk to, plus the ask feature is really nice imo. sucks that someone is trying to steal your comic though on tiktok, hope everyone is able to realize that's not you
