- It was such a good day, although a bit stressful when we were only 2-1 up and couldn't seem to win a single 2nd ball.
- All the Stockport fans I met were lovely.
- My voice could take some time to recover ๐Ÿ™‚

There's definitely a pub quiz question about the team who got knocked out of a cup competition, and still won it.

"Here by default, we're here by default, we are Luton, we're here by default".

Or something like that ๐Ÿ˜

Would it be greedy of me to ask for a portion of the stew, served with the crispy new potatoes in a rarebit sauce? ๐Ÿ˜‹

I've tried using AI to assist with IT tasks at work. It regularly tells me things that I know can't work. When I point this out, it responds with "you're right", then lists all the reasons why it was a preposterous idea, but always in a tone that suggests it is somehow my fault! ๐Ÿคฌ

Excellent LTFC connection to GB Baseball.

The GB starting pitcher in the opener of the World Baseball Classic, Jack Anderson, is the son of former Luton midfielder Peter Anderson.

LTFC getting a mention from the US commentators.

Suddenly, he was the nicest man in the universe. He was so pleased that I'd made an effort to say just ONE word.
He then taught me to say "diolch yn fawr". Afterwards, my friends were all going "what did you say to that bloke?". I just told them that I was polite to him.

When I was about 17 or 18, I went into a small shop in North Wales with some friends, all speaking English. When I went to pay for my items, the rather grumpy looking shopkeeper grudgingly told me the price in English. I paid, he gave me my change, I said "diolch".

A movie that takes place where you're from?

Blinded by the Light. Set in, and filmed all over Luton.

Electronic sign on a train that says "007 Not in Service"

Really disappointing film.
Still marginally better than "On Her Majesty's Rail Replacement Bus Service", so I'll be thankful for small mercies.

Me - I tried that and it says the file format isn't supported.
CP - You're right, I can't do that yet. Let me give you some links to sites that can.

1 bag, under the seat in front of me, 4 nights away, no bother. I can't remember the last time I used the overhead lockers.

So sorry to hear this.
I never had a cat myself, but my parents had 2, and it was hard enough when they died (the cats, not my parents ๐Ÿ™‚) so I really feel for you. Sounds like you gave her the best life though.
