You're so spot-on it kind of hurts. People never consider the person on the other side of the screen, and cruelty and misinformation run rampant.

Pearl can almost always recognize It in other forms, which comes in handy when Pennywise needs to make a quick escape. Nobody thinks twice about a woman picking up her lost cat and taking it home, even if the cat has weird vibes and too many bells on its collar.
