hi @ryanbforward3.bsky.social! still curious about your thoughts re: my above question. i appreciate much of what you have in your platform but it's specifics like this that make all the difference. please let me know your thoughts when you have a chance! thanks
Curious what your thoughts are about this week's planning meeting where they discussed commissioner adams' proposed plan/schedule for rezoning and the community land trusts' proposal to amend current zoning to allow 2/3 units by right in the meantime. are you in favor or opposed to those proposals?
We all have days like this
OpenAI: We’re burning money like the Joker. A miracle needs to happen for us to turn a profit
Microsoft: Please please use our AI systems, we’re teetering on the edge here
Anthropic: I wonder what’ll kill us first: lawsuits, regulations or model collapse
Media and universities: AI is here to stay
the underarm serve and an unnecessary hot dog shot are not the same at all. an underarm serve is a tactic that is specifically in response to a returner standing miles behind the baseline to gain an advantage against a traditional serve. it's completely, 100% legitimate
i think it's totally legitimate but there needs to be a balk rule. kyrgios in particular used to do a fake underarm serve motion to pull the returner in and then quickly serve a bomb, which is absolutely an abuse of the tactic
huron hills golf course between huron river drive and the B2B trail/river would be a pretty nice spot.....

i’m watching the alcaraz v sinner final on delay (no spoilers pls) so i don’t know who won, but i do know this: the true champion of the 2026 monte carlo masters is this alcaraz haircut. it’s so exactingly coiffed that it looks like a lego piece lmao
yes, and to be clear i assume all good intentions and i am not directing ire in their direction. but i think west side is a perfectly good name for the neighborhood so thats what i like to use
also worth considering why anyone thought the neighborhood needed a new name. the west side is clearly distinct from the old west side south of miller, and with main st./the river/m-14/newport boundaries it’s a very well-delineated neighborhood
historically it was called the west side, which i think in some eras also included black neighborhoods and businesses in the kerrytown/lowertown areas. i usually say i live on the west side or just north of miller near town
(as i'm sure you already know.... but useful info for other!)
not sure about this specific candidate, but Yousef Rabhi and other A2P2 boosters say the city would issue bonds. how would the city reduce rates while purchasing green energy on the market, upgrading infrastructure, and paying interest on hundreds of millions if not billions in loans? ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
lol

what, you didn't want to go with "The Rake"?
screenshot of a website lucasforward1.com/ward-finder.html that reads: Lucas for ward 1 Ward 1 covers the northwestern part of Ann Arbor — including Kerrytown, Old Fourth Ward, and Water Hill. there is a very specific flavor to this cycle's #a2council challengers and i was amused to see that this ward 1 candidate does not know what neighborhoods are in ward 1 (also, the name water hill sucks, is an offensive erasure of the city's historically black neighborhood, and you shouldn't use it)

ah, yes! excellent.

more than one! it appears to be catching
actually wait, i hadn't seen the commercial stream before!! this perspective absolutely rules, thanks for the link
yea these are great! but the pilot program had a bunch of cameras and it would rotate between them, which provided all kinds of cool angles for moon and sun rises/sets. it was often gorgeous and dramatic in a way that these don't quite reach. but still v cool to watch anything live in space, though!
there was a pilot program a few years ago on the ISS to test different high def cameras in space, and they livestreamed from the station 24 hours a day. i used to make it full screen and use it as my background of my second monitor. it was incredible and i still miss it
a "real townie" would be unfamiliar with the social dynamics of brooklyn neighborhoods; perhaps she is herself a self-loathing member of this so called chattering class?
