The small-c conservative pitch for labor is so elegant: It used to be that you could get a good job and care for your family, until the bosses decided their profits were more important than your stability.
"Labor conservatism" fascinates me as a thing I encounter quite often in daily life (some of the best union activists I've met are conservative) but really cannot politically exist in the USA.
