It's kinda like if you were born intuitively feeling like the A button should be on the right, X should be up, B down, etc. but life hands you an Xbox controller and everyone gets super weird the moment you ask about button remapping.

Finally did another ocean walk after interviews, travel, and a new job kept me away! Some inspiration on the walk out here too

I played a game with you at a con 2 years ago, before I came out as trans, and I’m sad I didn’t see you this year to attempt a conversation and burst into tears instead.

Gerhard Richters ’Abstraktes Bild’ 1987 oil on linen, canvas is dominated by large red and green sections. Far more irregular, the tool marks are visceral and evocative.

Close up of some of the tool marks from the first piece. One irregular cut through the piece, revealing layers of paint underneath.

Gerhard Richter’s Wald (4), ‘Forest (4)’
I’d been parsing this as wine-dark sea after that cheesecake photo had been circulating. It’s similar to my favorite, with a different palette and more natural wave/cut patterns.

Fresh photo of my favorite of Gerhard Richter’s abstract pictures, the green/yellows fading into the background pink, large tool marks scrape from top to bottom of the canvas.

Back at Mr Richter’s pieces again today, trying to find elements I like from the other pieces. The tool cuts in the gruul one are amazing, more Jackson pollock than the regular lines on my favorite piece. One chance to cut those through the paint, no way to recreate or un-destroy. SF MOMA

Gerhard Richter’s Abstraktes Bild (abstract picture) oil on linen 1992

Large columns of shifting colors take up the majority, each one appearing to be from a single scrape from a palette knife’s edge.

with my birthday tomorrow and MOMA closed then I’m visiting now. this piece has captured my attention lately, it’s on the way to my favorite installation. something visceral about the tool marks directly on the canvas, creating with a process not a destination

A Borges story about a guy who gets AI to summarize all the world’s information for him, and then summarize the summary, until the AI has the whole world summarized into a single word. He sits alone at his desk, staring at the word, repeating it endlessly, certain he is experiencing everything

Democratic base: We hate spineless Democrats. We can't stand how they grant Republican framing on immigration, Gaza, and more. They are putting people at risk and abdicating their role as opposition leaders.

plaque at a local museum. "No girl, unless she knows how to run an auto, knows how it makes you feel, to push one thing, pull another and start a machine to moving that weighs so many more times the amount she does. Sort of a thrill, an uplifted feeling as though you were doing something wonderful. You are, too! Fancy moving something that weighs TONS by a few twists and turns. I held my breath for fear something would happen."

I won't speak for others but I want candidates who won't just win the next election but aggressively, unapologetically destroy trumpism and rebuild everything he's broken. If you're too afraid of a 51-49 poll to even talk about an issue I have no faith that will be you
