🕹️ Finally can share what I worked on last year! Demeter was such a fun god to design! From pitch to ship the team poured so much passion and love into this one. Excited for players to finally get their hands on it.
Went to a restaurant in the city and couldn’t stop looking at this piece. I don’t know why it spoke to me, but it did.
I need all my devices to do a whole lot less.
My Amazon Fire TV takes ages to turn on and all I want is to switch inputs.
But, as soon as I disconnect it from my network, it magically becomes a better TV.
So, yeah… dumb devices are the way to go.
🕹️ started playing Space Marine 2 recently. What a fun game! I realized some games just understand their assignment. They know what they are. They know what is expected. And they don’t try to be anything else. I appreciate that.
🕹️Got my first retro game handheld. Linux 64-bit system. Under $100. Default software was meh… so I swapped it for Knulli. Plays everything through PS1 generation perfectly. A very enjoyable experience all-in-all.
Found this photo of the PlayStation Store at the Metreon in San Francisco (1999). I used to love going there as a kid. I really miss the vibes and aesthetics of the 5th and 6th gen console era.
Thank you.
I’ve been making games professionally for over 10 years.
I still get butterflies when I submit a level design for feedback from the leads.
The time between finishing work and receiving feedback is the most uncomfortable part of the creative process for me.
It’s been almost two weeks since we lost our corgi. It’s hard to put into words how much I miss her. She was the sweetest and greatest friend anyone could ask for. Today she came back home.
Wiithout fail. Every time. I always underestimate how long it takes to teach the rules of a board game. I need to double the time I think it will take.
:joystick: For the last year, my main PC has been a docked Steam Deck and I know that sounds insane. But, if I’m honest, it just works. I now dread using my windows work machine. Linux is just a better experience overall.
yeah it’s truly amazing
Energy Vampire reminded me:
I think being wrong on the internet is rewarded.
People will either believe, get angry, or correct the record.
Either way, it’s all a form of engagement.
And algorithms love that.
Needed a way to send my clipboard to multiple devices. KDE Connect works great for this. Highly recommended. I no longer have to email myself links. Praise be!
Social media isn’t social anymore.
It’s just media. Media we resent and don’t trust.
We know it manipulates. Divides. Angers.
Algorithms don’t want real connection. They want conflict. Cheap and predictable attention.
It’s a business model built on creating unhappy customers.
This made my day. You're the exact type of player we do this work for. Thank you!
Impressive! That NPC is an expert on how to not get shot.

I got to design these lil dudes for #ludumdare
They're called Morgi's.
Love them.
@powerauerart.bsky.social and gabecornish (Twitter) have worked together for a quick game and I'll post it here when we're done with it.
Content locked for our #LudumDare56 game jam with @emichen88.bsky.social @gabrielcornish.bsky.social
Had fun working on the color and environment pieces. Emily had designed the Morgi complete juxtaposition to the dark environment.

🕹 One of the best parts about landing an interview in the game industry is that I get to play a bunch of the studio’s games as prep.

🕹 Last week I released Hell Dev.
Made in around 10 hours over the course of a month in my spare time.
It turned out “ok”
All-in-all it was a fun project that got me through my first week of unemployment
Hell Dev by Gabriel Cornish
#gamedev community, I’d love to hear from you!
What’s the most fun you’ve ever had working on a game?
What were you working on?
What made it made such a fun experience?
When was the last time you felt like that?
#gamedev should be fun and creatively fulfilling!
If you feel burnt out or disillusioned, think about treating yourself to a small game project that’s just for you.
🗓️ Make it in a month.
⏱️ Work on it for 1-2 hours a week.
🔥 Don’t crunch. Cut scope.
😊 Make whatever brings you joy.
The WoW team has formed a union!
I hope they achieve a sustainable and fulfilling work environment so that they can produce their best work.
