Today, the Trump administration repealed the endangerment finding: the ruling that served as the basis for limits on tailpipe emissions and power plant rules. Without it, we’ll be less safe, less healthy and less able to fight climate change—all so the fossil fuel industry can make even more money.
The world has changed today.
Cool that renewables have become the cheapest source of energy in the world just as a bunch of reactionary-centrist US pundits have taken up the right-wing "climate vs. cheap energy" framing.
Employees of organizations that work with illegal immigrants or “transition children” will no longer qualify for loan forgiveness after 10 years of payments.
We did it, y’all! 5786 is now in full swing. I hope all who observed had a meaningful Rosh Hashanah and Yom Kippur. Shanah Tovah and Shabbat Shalom! #jewsky

How many times can we pray for peace
while the world trembles with violence?
Still, we lift our voices—
again and again—
because silence is surrender,
and prayer keeps hope alive.
May peace come.
May it come soon.
May it come for all.
Unfortunately there is no shortage of stress, but I could go for some Cap’n Crunch 😅😋

The front cover of “The Color of Law” by Richard Rothstein
My most recent read: an in-depth look at the legal roots of the supposed “de facto” segregation that plagues the U.S. today. Rothstein challenges the notion that modern racial segregation is merely culture or class-based and posits myriad ideas for how we move forward toward repair.
Came here wondering the same thing!

NEWS: House Appropriations Committee Republicans released their spending bill for Labor, Health and Human Services, Education, and Related Agencies. The legislation would prohibit taxpayer dollars for any type of gender-affirming care for transgender people. This would include programs like Medicaid
I’ve read that this varies by state - some people have shared that pharmacies asked for more info and/or proof of diagnosis - but in Indiana, the only additional step I encountered was the checkbox when I scheduled my appointment with CVS. Do with this info what you will. 💉
Got the updated #COVID vaccine. I’m under 65 but qualified due to having asthma. However, I will share that when I scheduled the appointment online, I did not have to specify my diagnosis: just checked a box saying I had a qualifying health condition. No one at the pharmacy questioned me further.
Renewables can also provide a hedge against demand uncertainty, which is especially relevant in today’s era of data center growth. We saw this effect in another recent paper: bsky.app/profile/emil...

Did not have “sprain my ankle on Day 1 of half marathon training” on this year’s bingo card, but here we are. Sprain was not run related; I tripped over a curb at work 🫠
Enough is enough. The health of the country is in danger. Read our resignation letters: insidemedicine.substack.com/p/breaking-n...
It’s the second day of the semester and I’ve already been mistaken for an undergrad. Guess the grey hairs aren’t so noticeable after all. #EDUsky #academicsky

The terrible graphic design on AG Rokita’s press releases makes it look like his office is promising Liberty Inaction, which is inadvertently fitting
The cool thing about 2025 is the Twin Peaks universe almost seems normal in comparison
