I made two birthday cakes from scratch on Saturday night, frosted them on Sunday morning (delegated the chocolate ganache to 16yo), and enjoyed a really lovely birthday celebration for my twins, who turned 23.

SO LOUD. some years ago, my kid was at a baseball practice during the evening episode of Bonus Awoo and the siren was *in the ballpark*. The 9-year-olds and their dads were not in good shape. (I am not complaining; I just like my local siren and its half-mile distance from my home.)

Emergency weather thing went off at 12:45. These two teenage boys in the library just about lost their MINDS (and then one of them went outside to find out exactly how loud it is [VERY]).

My dad was an entertainer in Nashville in the 1960s-80s. He occasionally sang this song onstage (sometimes onstage on a riverboat), but he sang it kind of a lot at home because it was my Very Favorite Song when I was about five. 🥰

All this Spring that’s happening is making me think it’s *not* time to start dinner. I have lots more goofing off to do today. Hmph.
