Maverick might appeal in Southern Europe where pickups get a bit more love, but we have the Ranger, which is a proper work truck that appeals to the majority of the EU pickup market (farmers, construction companies, men with tiny dicks and dirty stuff).

In case you were curious how things look in Northern Europe. I filled up the tank yesterday at a “cheap” gast station outside the major cities and this was the result.

Total converts to $132 and that comes to $10.32/gallon. Down the street it was close to $11,50/g.

Next level! I’ve seen them here too, but am not sure I could have them in the house.

They are! Luxurious compared to most.

Luckily they’re so steep that most people end up “sliding down” them to the next floor instead of doing the dramatic “Dynasty tumble”. Still hurts when you hit the wall at the bottom though!

These are an example of “really good” Dutch stairs in my quite stately 1920s home. Many are much, MUCH worse. Juanma’s ladder steps are much more typical.

I’m wondering how often people fall down the stairs in Dutch soap operas. In my experience, no western country gets close to NL in terms of hard-to-negotiate staircases.

Center-left Emmanuel Grégoire tipped to win race for Paris mayor, poll shows The survey from Cluster 17 shows the Socialist Party candidate scoring 48 percent of the vote.

Headlines like this can be VERY dangerous. Haven’t we learned the really hard way yet that polls don’t win elections? TURNOUT wins elections. Never assume anything. #VOTE

“PARIS — Emmanuel Grégoire looks primed to [win] in Sunday’s runoff election to lead the French capital, according to a poll…”

Really good outdoor furniture can withstand the weather, but it’s insanely expensive because it uses teak or other exotic hard wood. But even most teak furniture needs to be cleaned and treated every couple years to stay in good shape.

If you cover it in the winter then it will last quite a long time. If not, then you’ll need to sand and treat it every year or two (in Dutch weather). But that’s common to pretty much all acacia outdoor furniture.

Even the more expensive one I’m sitting on needs a good cleaning/treating!

“The bicycle doesn’t have brakes” is very English, as here in NL you often have bikes with only coaster brakes and no hand brakes, so not visible in any way.

The Dutch MoD announced it has selected the French F21 MK2 heavyweight torpedo for its future Orka-class submarines. The initial plan was to integrate the American MK48 which is currently used by the Royal Netherlands Navy aboard the in-service Walrus-class 🇫🇷🇳🇱
