Little personal fact about this piece: I actually started it in 2021 for the 15th anniversary. It was right around that time, however, that I was struck with a debilitating, depression-induced art block. I had never experienced such a thing before. It shook me so bad that I didn't draw for over a year... Recovery was gradual. I desperately wanted to finish this piece and felt horrible every year that it sat in my WIPs folder. After an agonizingly long period of time, I felt my joy for drawing return and rebuilt my confidence. When I finally sat down to work on this piece again, it felt like an old friend, who had patiently waited for my return. I was able to pour my passion into it without second-guessing myself. I share this for those who may be experiencing similar situations. Give yourself grace and don't allow despair to dictate every facet of your life. <3
