Very sad to hear of the passing of Judge Brian Doyle. He was President of the Employment Tribunals at a time my caseload was nearly all Tribunal work and I was fortunate to attend a couple of informative and practical sessions he ran. He always came across as a lovely man.

Stunning sunset tonight. This is just the tail end but the last half hour has been spectacular
if they are of equal value. Other large retailers have similar equal pay cases against them and we’re likely to see more. There are a host of reasons for unequal pay, which are often historical, but it’s good to see progress being made in trying to address this imbalance.
There are over 3500 happy Next employees out there, who have just won their equal pay case in the Tribunal comparing store worker pay with warehouse pay. Next have said they will appeal. This is a difficult area of equal pay law, where different jobs are compared to see
It’s been a big day in our house. A mad week really as my eldest collected her A-level results which led to a change in direction… so GCSE results for the middle one and youngest (1) today, and an interview for an exciting apprentice opportunity for the eldest. All of them smashed today ❤️
