Absolutely! I still feel most comfortable with stuff that’s 5”x7” but I think bigger stuff is much more efficent in terms of amount of paint on the board but also in just how dramatic it can be

Yep! I do a lot of the planning now digitally but I find it incredibly hard for me to ever feel like a product is finished until it’s done IRL . I love digital but imho I’m not skilled enough to get the effect I want with it, so physical paintings it is !

I’m glad you liked the intermittent steps! There’s a lot the goes into something as big as this and while I like making something in just one weekend the steps are a fun little byproduct!

I’m happy with how it turned out as well! While I’m still haunted by “brush too small for gargantuan canvas” I grappled with the block of color well enough . Imho I feel like I got ~2 masterwork level brush strokes — one on the right bicep and one under the fig leaf 😅

36 “ x 48” , I’m happy with how things have turned out but I’m losing out on quality from lack of some tooling 😅 I got one more canvas this big but idk if I’ll touch another monster this size this year

I lik how it’s coming out so far , imho I wish I spent more money on a wider variety of brushes, in certain parts of the background feel a little muddy to me , but I need to give my self some grace since 95% of all the pieces I work on are the size of a note card rather than half my apts wall

I thought about blocking in a canvas version of a fig leaf and just sticking it to the actual canvas with like a magnet but, it’s not worth the risk to damage the final piece for the sake of frivolous censorship.

Oh that’s a little sticker I made in like 30 mins to temper the heat of the original work :3 it’s not on the physical piece I just don’t want to post anything that’s too spicy for the algorithm. The full version of dumpy in all his glory will get posted on my FA eventually
