They don't care about developing or creating queer romance, which is why I'm sick of consuming material where the people behind it are straight and don't understand how important it is to tell queer stories, not just about acceptance, but about falling in love and being reciprocated.
In my 17 years of being involved in fandoms, I can say that I have learned not to get my hopes up that a queer ship from a non-queer show will become canon.
Not because it doesn't have the potential to be, but because, unfortunately, these people only take advantage of the queer audience.
