The world’s carbon emissions continue to rise. But 35 countries show progress in cutting carbon In 2025 the world has fallen short, again, of peaking and reducing its fossil fuel use. But there are many countries on a path to greener energy.

The 2025 update of the Global Carbon Budget is out.
While fossil CO2 emissions rise again and carbon sinks are weakened by climate change, deforestation emissions are down and many countries decarbonise their energy.
No global emissions peak yet though.

Time series on the date of spring onset in Sodankylä, Finland.

Time series on the date of spring onset in Sodankylä, Finland.

Did the thermal spring start in Sodankylä Lapland already on 12 March?

The cumulative heat sum since then is now 21.4 °C days, and rarely in the history has such a large heat accumulation been reversed by a subsequent cold spell.

If the 12 March is confirmed, it would beat the record by 10 days.

The data is clear.
Our climate is changing more rapidly than at any time in the past, due to our burning of fossil fuels. These graphs make it clear, and the curves are not flattening at all.
Denial helps no one.

China Is Beating the US in the Battle for Energy Export Dominance China’s exports of clean energy technology hit a record in August, with $20 billion shipped globally.

"The US, which has positioned itself as a major fossil fuel exporter, sold $80 billion in oil and gas abroad through July, the last month with data available. China exported $120 billion in green technology over the same period."

Ukraine is Europe!
We stand by Ukraine.

We will step up our support to Ukraine so that they can continue to fight back the agressor.

Today, it became clear that the free world needs a new leader. It’s up to us, Europeans, to take this challenge.
