It wasn't going to be an ebook. But I get it. Some readers need a more affordable entry point than the cost of the Hardback.

So how does $8.99 sound?

You can download and own INFUSIONS OF FAITH right now for less than coffee & a bagel.

The good, good people at WJTL in Pennsylvania interviewed me this morning about INFUSIONS OF FAITH, and they've posted the entire thing online! Check it out:

I just fell for a very sophisticated and realistic-appearing phishing scam. They got my debit card number, had to call the bank, cancel the card, yada yada yada.

The internet is a savage place. Be extra careful out there.

Hours, days, years... We won't look back one day, proud of our ability to measure these things. Because they're not where life happens.

Life happens in moments, and in seasons.

My focus doesn't belong on the ticking of a clock, but on being present this moment for whatever God has for me.

The score to #Speed is absolutely ICONIC, and I will hear no arguments to the contrary.

My profile says "no politics" and I mean it. But this isn't political. This is harrowingly human and had my heart racing by the time I finished reading it. It's beyond belief that we live in times where things like this are actually happening.

According to my wife, women dig football because they enjoy the eye candy. The men wear skin-tight uniforms and there are butts and abs plainly on display.

I suppose there's a poetic justice in that, given how sexualized and fetishized women usually are in our culture.

Still don't like it, though.

I will never understand #football. And especially why women are so cool with it.

Think about it. The #Superbowl is an over-the-top celebration of male-dominated culture where giant, brawny men are required to settle their differences with violence.

Why is this a thing?

Goal for today: write “2.5.25” as many times as possible. Something about it is deeply gratifying.

Oh oh oh!! Today should be #SpeedDay! I wonder if anyone has thought of that. The bus that was central to that movie’s plot was Bus no. 2525.

Yeah I watched Speed a whooooole bunch of times.

I’d love to pinpoint the exact moment when it stopped being ok to disagree in the U.S.

It used to be ok. Healthy, even.

We can’t handle it anymore. If I disagree with you, you pull back from our friendship. Warn others to keep away from me.

Cancel me.

When did we become so childish and insecure?

In case you didn't know this... In addition to Novelist, Young Avenger, Word Collector, and Guy Who Takes On Too Many Projects, there's another title I can add to my resume:

Apparently I'm an Icon.

And it's all about the hair.

I would be posting more but I'm going through a moderate health crisis at the moment. I should be fine, but there's a lot of unknowns and uncertainties (and I hate those), so I'd really, really appreciate everyone's prayers.

Don't ever, ever, EVER take a drug called Olanzapine. It sucks.

That's the generic name. I have no idea what the brand name is, but it sucks, too.

Horrible, dreadful drug, full of some of the worst side effects I've ever encountered.

Barnes & Noble canceled all the orders because of some kind of issue they were having with the ink. I still don't fully understand it (It was a whole big thing, don't get me started), but apparently they've resolved it now, and you should be able to get it if you re-order. 😁

or in this case how they’re all, or could be, connected as part of the same problem… It’s a confirmation of so many of my worst fears. And it makes me feel SO STUPID for not figuring it out sooner.

jerky motions, inability to sit still, tiny rashes on the inside of my mouth...

It’s stupid but it made me cry because this is so emblematic of what it’s like BEING ME: a revolving door of miserable health problems, never knowing why or where they’re coming from—

I figured something out today that made me very upset. Looked up the side effects of a medication I'm on, an extensive list—every single one of which I’ve been experiencing for over a month now, and had no idea were all connected!

Blurred vision, loss of balance, slurred speech, shuffling walk,

It's got some really interesting and original characters, too, some of whom show that the producers know their ST history. Srsly I think the last time we saw a Deltan was ST: The Motion Picture. I do think they've pulled from the Eugenics Wars, aka Khan's people, a few too many times now. We get it.

I'm sorry but that's easily in the all time top 10 dumbest narrative decisions a storyteller can possibly make.

It's a shame, too. Because the movie's got some fun scifi ideas, the acting's on point, the costume, makeup, hair, and production design are terrific, and the music's great.

But sadly, it was poorly written.

(MINOR SPOILERS.) A major twist reveal was TOLD to our (anti)hero, instead of, y'know, revealed. Aka *shown*. Georgiou is literally told that someone thought long dead is still alive, robbing her of the dramatic impact of them coming shockingly face to face again.

Really wanted to love #StarTrekSection31. Philippa Georgiou was one of Star Trek's most complex and interest characters ever, and Michelle Yeoh commanded the screen every time she was on it. And she gives Section 31 her all.

All right, Bluesky. I'm ready to leave behind Zuckermuskland. Everyone claims you're my best refuge.

Do I dare believe the hype?

Let's find out.
