My husband then came into the room to check on the noises I made, because they were apparently new. 😑 Not me, just the noises. Apparently, he knew I was fine.

I fear I am becoming the kind of academic who is less like Hermione Granger and is more like book!Howl Pendragon.

I just shouted: “No, banana! What tragedy has just befallen you? And me! My skirt! You smeared it as you tumbled to the ground! Oh, sadness!”

My beloved winged SoundSports stopped working while I was running this morning (just the left side, so I can at least still control my iPod whose control button broke like a decade ago). Then I got home and saw our car has a flat tire. Off to a great start today. 🥲

My husband just asked me how much coffee I've had today (derogatory).

The answer is a lot, apparently. 🤔

(I was out of my regular mostly just flavour coffee and drank his caffeine infused caffeine instead this morning...)

11. I don't think I've shown this one before? The original pen sketch was from 2019, and I've been slowly finishing it over the past few years. This is just the vibe sketch.

10. I used to collab a lot, back when I was a much younger Q in a much younger HP fandom (before we were all entrenched so deeply in our ships). I've done a bit since I joined the dramiones, but I usually just feel like the odd one out here, so I mostly just work on my own things. I'm also busy irl.

9. I'm not a huge fan of drawing for other people as I get very anxious and my perfectionism kicks in pretty hard. And sharing my drawings with people I know personally makes me very uncomfortable because of bad past experiences. Sharing with strangers on the internet is fun though. Usually.

8. It really depends on the day, and where I'm at mentally. I feel like I'm more confident than not, but I have also worked very hard to detach my sense of self-worth to how other people react (or fail to react) to my work. Somedays I feel really down about it though (So I disappear for a bit).

7. I used to do commission work and cons and things like that over a decade ago, but it wasn't a great fit for me at the time. Now I don't have the time, or the inclination to work for people, so I mostly just work for myself and draw what makes me happy.

But I’ll take your comment as a like, so:

22. For drawing, my favourite medium are pencil crayons. I think I do my best work with them. Though I haven’t used them since 2020, when my NY resolution was to learn to work digitally.

Don’t feel bad! I feel like there used to be versions of these things where people would pick!

6. Backgrounds. My brain and my hand just do not understand perspective. They are the bane of my existence. But I’ve been trying so hard these past 10 years to get better at them, and I think I am making progress (procreate has helped a lot). I envy people who just take real photos and blur them! ❤️

5. If I am doodling (just letting my pen do what it wants) I almost never use references. If I am sketching or working on something specific, I will always use at least one, though sometimes there are several.

4. I love drawing people. I really enjoy trying to figure out how to make them look like they have weight and form, and that their clothing and fabric folds match their shapes and movement.

3. I took art classes from grade 8-12; I have 1/2 a BFA; and I spent about 20 years learning from (and then working for) a master potter. But for drawing and colouring I feel I learnt the most through doodling, practice, and observation.

2. I think I started when I was 10? I had been very inspired by Sailor Moon. So, it’s been a *while* 😅

1. I generally prefer working with my hands, but now that I have a better grasp of working digitally I do enjoy and appreciate how much easier it is to fix mistakes or change your plan halfway through while working on a tablet. So, both, depending on what I want to make.

Also, it's been a while since I've done one of these...

I think one of my favourite things about using copics is that you get two versions of every drawing.

I've just been slowly filling this book up, but I have no gumption to scan or share the results, so just more wips for now.

Draco & Luna friendship is one of my favourite things, and I tried to include it in LMU but that Hermione got *obscenely* jealous so I cut it out. lol! 😅

After two months of working every day (for at least an hour) I have finally submitted 32,000 words of garbage to my supervisor. Only 15,000 more terrible words to go. 😩

I started this story at the same time as Light Me Up (along with a third story). It’s about 20 chapters long, 60% written, and I may or may not finish it (or maybe I’ll turn it into something non-fandom related?). It’s technically an AU of LMU, so they both make a lot of nods to each other. 🤷🏼‍♀️
