"Aerial view of PKW in the Prince Rivulet area in December 2017 nearly two years post-fire showing extensive presence of water with black sediment and flocculant covering areas of previously white sands (Photo: Rolan Eberhard)." - the image shows a hour glass shaped patch of dark water in the middle of the image, with lighter sand towards the bottom part of the patch and some patches of vegetation. Surrounding the water is fairly bright green vegetation.

New Natural History Note in Austral Ecology: Rare peat-bound karstic wetlands in Lutruwita/Tasmania—alkaline, groundwater-fed systems within acidic peatlands. Endemic flora + living stromatolites. Monitoring shows slow change but infilling risk. 🌱🧪🌍 doi.org/10.1111/aec.... @ecolsocaus.bsky.social

Tiny sundew bugs dodge capture & steal prey from their carnivorous host plants & manage to appear when Drosera sundews are most sticky — timing their heists to peak prey capture. 🪰🌱🧪🌍
