The first time it happened my dad had stayed over in the attic so we just brushed it off, all the other times though, I've the only window opener (wife is AirCon 4eva) but I never open attic windows in winter.

I stopped reading because I was using the kindle app on my phone—way too many distractions. Going back to an e-reader with WiFi only broke the doom scroll at last. I also super needed a more gentle screen for my eyes, and e-ink works for me
Already use Libby for all my e book loans, but I can’t read on my phone/laptop, I get way too distracted and e-ink is easier on my eyes
I pulled out my 2012 kindle because using the app on my phone or iPad was WAAAAAY too distracting and I wasn’t reading anymore. I also prefer the e-ink screens, way easier on my eyes. But fuck Amazon looks like I’ve got alternatives (though I would miss the built in keyboard too much for words)
I’ve made the switch to Bookshop for hard copies! No complaints there!

The nice thing about Amazon threatening to brick my 2012 Kindle is that I’m free now. They’re taking away my Kindle. I don’t have to get a new one. I can get another e-book reader for all my library loans.
It’s very liberating.

Me and my wife are talking making platelet-giving date nights. There’s so many ways AFAB are expected to just give of their bodies but boy is this the one I’m like “HOOK ME UP, TAKE WHAT YOU NEED”
IDK still emotional about being healthy enough to give blood again after years of severe anemia. Going to give blood since I was teen was my small grab onto sanity and KNOWING I was helping SOMEONE in a real physical way. And now it's back. It's so small but means the world.
