Obviously Apple didn’t know Trump was gonna declare war on Los Angeles, but there is something pretty distasteful about Apple launching all new shiny things while just down the coast a city burns to the ground.
Like, are we really gonna do this guys?

We all have to draw the line somewhere 🤣
Naming your startup? Just remove the vowels and manifest a domain name. Sorted. 💸
My dock containing Overcast, SoundCloud, Apple Music, and Scratch. Link in bio.
3/4 apps in my dock are music-related; I’m gonna be a hopeless music fanboy to the end.
1. SoundCloud for deep digs
2. Apple Music for classics
3. And the green one? That’s Scratch—my little passion project for dancefloor lovers 🕺 (in beta, link in bio)
Oh aye, this looks tasty
The web as a series of machine-readable databases has played on my mind since @reckless.bsky.social interviewed Sundar Pichai.
AI wont write the code, there just won’t be any code. No websites. Nothing for humans to see.
What a waste of the miracle that is the web. We’re entering our Matrix era.
David Mitchell is excellent, as always. Such great TV.
Gorgeous. Started it last night. Loving it. The exposition at the beginning went on for way longer than it needed to though!
Come on Siri, you’re not even trying.
Super Squirrel.
Marina Hyde is on fire again, this time pinning Zuckerberg to the wall. Game, set, and match.

Apparently AI should have an “I Quit” button so if it doesn’t want to perform a task, it can bounce.
Not only did AI get the best education in the world by stealing the entirety of human endeavour, it now gets better workers rights than any human on the planet too.

Alright, you’re just showing off now 🤣. Honestly, wow 🤩
I know right! Slowly slowly we get there!
The city sure is cold this time of year but it doesn’t half make for some great photography!
Oh these are just perfect.
Two of the biggest companies on Earth both sell Macs.
Admit it, these are the stellar insights that should be filling up the world’s data centres, right? 🤣
Mine’s set to Shazam. My obsession with music is so out of control that if I hear a new song I love I just have to have it there and then. I use it more than I even imagined, honestly.
I love that everything is just off enough to be like a low-level hum that you’re only barely aware of until everything kicks off and then it just goes completely nuts for a bit. Such a great cadence.
American flag overlayed with the Statue of Liberty and the digit 4 prominently in the centre.
I said I wouldn’t write again about Trump and tech, but given the mugging at the Oval Office, I felt compelled.
The Fourth Reich: a combo of Big Tech and the Trump administration is on the march. This time with JavaScript rather than jackboots.
Have a read 🙏🏼

So true!
It’s definitely an idea. Though my bedroom looks like Berlin after the war at the moment. They’re gonna need to send in a search and rescue team if this goes on much longer, so maybe I’d not locate the date outfit even if I did that, honestly.
Day 5 of staring at the ceiling and watching Get A Life TV™.
I missed my winter jabs and here I am. That’ll teach me.
Tried to take a shower yesterday and keeled over in the corridor. All I could think was: “Please don’t let me die wearing shapeless joggers and a 3 day old T-shirt.”
I’m not well. Fever. Aches. All that jazz. So I’ve resorted to asking AI absurd questions because there’s naff all else to do at 2 in the morning. Pretty certain it’s about to request overtime, citing ‘batshit existential queries from sickly human’. Developing.
Excerpt from Marina Hyde’s article reads: So, to put it another way ... wait, Sam - you're not telling us that the Chinese hedge fund crawled all over your IP without asking and took it for themselves? Oh my God, IMAGINE?! You must feel used and abused. Financially violated. Like all your years of creativity were just grist to some other bastard's mill. Like a host organism. Like a schmuck. Like Earth's most screamingly preposterous hypocrite.
Marina Hyde captures my sentiments on Sam Altman’s DeepSeek tantrum perfectly.
She really is one of the UK’s finest journalists. Just sublime.
I'm obsessed with paradoxes.
First, "paradox" is a cool word. Second, they're fun to think about.
The classic example is the Liar Paradox: "This sentence is false."
It creates an infinite loop of contradiction. If it’s true it's false and if it’s false it’s true.
Morning!
What a waste of Michelle Yeoh’s talents.
Holy crap you were right. Jeez.
Oops! Missed the DeepSeek drama while enduring Section 31 last night with a friend. Turns out watching AI stocks plummet would've been more way more entertaining than that space-tacular flop.
I hope you’re correct, I would love that to be the case. But currently words and figures differ; what he’s said and then what he’s gone on to do, are wildly at odds. I guess we’ll find out.
