The one closest to me is local. Like one of the original ones opened by the family that started it.
The ribs are merely average there. Cheese biscuits are still good.

I think they have a real problem with QC, especially with franchises.
It was one of my dad’s favorite places, but that was 25 years ago.
Only because they weren’t running it.
Got to remember it’s acting. So Weiser is playing whiny guys. But his character in Red Oaks kinda looks like Parcells and has some of his attitude.
I was completely surprised by it.
That’s …something else. Wouldn’t be first time a promoter ripped guys off, but it would have had the worst result.
I had sequels to Magnum PI and Simon and Simon planned out in my head.
I’d taken a hiatus from wrestling when he took a name for himself. When I got back in he was running ECW.
So I missed a lot of the “annoying manager” stuff….ALTHOUGH Jim Cornette pretty much hated ECW, so there’s that.
Reiser was in a tv show called Red Oaks. Pretty funny at times. Watching him in this I thought “if they ever make a biopic of Bill Parcells, Reiser is the guy”
Yeah, but Welsh think further north. Lots of railroaders in my family. My great grandfather worked for some mining adjacent company until the Depression, and then he sold insurance. Grandpa serviced mining equipment and sold hardware during WW2 and after. He left WV for good in 1956
The movie needed a villain. Enzo just wasn’t enough. Jon Bernthal as Lee Iacocca…outstanding!
Dance…has a hell of a list of credits. His character’s ecological nonsense was so convincing I’d have kicked him in the groin
There can be Venn Overlap on things.
Wise County, VA? I didn’t have family there, but Bluefield, Clifton Forge, Covington…we were there.
My grandfather was 10 or so living in Bluefield, WV when that went down. It’s a good movie.
Michael Hayes and Jim Cornette wrestling wise.
Josh Lucas as Leo Beebe in Ford Vs Ferrari.
Charles Dance as Alan Jonah in Godzilla, King of All Monsters
It’s really good. Not my favorite Sayles movie, but it’s good.
I refuse to watch or listen to Finebaum. As to music choices here…I can’t say I’m suprised
Some folks need doxxing
I’m opposed to the war and killing running of the mill Iranians, but put me on jury judging the ruling mullahs, IRGC leadership, or the Basij militia….they’re getting their fair trial and then being sent to prison or worse.
Being a cynic, I wouldn’t mention the people being bombed. I’d keep it generic: this war Trump started and Tubs abetted is affecting YOUR wallet.
Nothing more, nothing less.
Unfortunately, I think a Dem candidate needs to be willing to throw the proverbial hands. Can’t always play defense.
Even though he has no direct control of some of these things, I’d campaign against Tubs on the high costs of electricity, home ownership, auto insurance, and gasoline.
They’re already accredited for a PhD in Hard Knocks
That team was going to fail without a large infusion of tax payer cash as it was.
Are you saying Utah’s ownership did some election shenanigans to get the money for the team?
Guy I used to lift with once in awhile. He went into the NFL at the same time as Bruce and was long retired by 1999. Bruce was still playing.
Him: “Bruce Mathews is amazing”.
I stood next to John Hannah once. I’ve never felt so small.
Guy I knew had lifted with Slater back in the mid 70’s. “Biggest hands I’ve ever seen. One hand covered a sheet of paper”
What did they do?
Pretty much so. The “Thin Thirty” at Kentucky under Charlie Bradshaw might be the most extreme.
Fun fact: I used to do judo in one of the rooms Coach Bryant used for off season conditioning at Bama. No AC even in the 90’s. I can see where it would be brutal. But I lost 20 pounds in 3 weeks there!
Sounds like Cholly was the stereotype red ass coach in the 50’s. It’s how it was. But like I said, they became friends. Pastor went and saw Cholly on his death bed. I think pastor’s wife just didn’t like the way he treated his position group players. But It Was A Different Time.
My childhood pastor, whose position coach was Cholly Mac, told me this in 2006:
“We hated each other, but became friends. But my wife still hates him”.
I’m not saying it doesn’t end in a Bulls Win, but it’s likely to go 7
I’m willing to be that they win at least one title and probably keep LA from one of their late 80’s trips to the Finals
