if you design a robot to do something, you quickly learn the bipedal shape is dumb. wanna move something? it should be on wheels. need to put something on a shelf or sort items? 6 axis robot arm. Robots are purpose built because you can't give them the cognitive ability to make use of a human body!

The human body is built in a really dumb way, we are not especially good at much but we have a ton of versatility in what our bodies can do. We are where we are because our brains allow us to make full use of that versatility. we cant replicate this cause we cant replicate a human brain!

I've spent most of my career in the industrial robotics and automation industries and what I can tell you is that from an engineering perspective bipedal robots are fucking stupid. the focus is on that because like so much else in our tech world its about making you feel like its the future.
