You’d be better than Jimmy Tingle.

Just was playing the awesome Replacements bootleg Shit, Shower & Shave this morning which has a great version of this. Never heard the song till they turned me onto it. Love the original too.
NEW—I got an exclusive excerpt from a USAID whistleblower's new book that made me gasp multiple times. It details Trump's dismantling of the humanitarian aid agency & his team/DOGE's shocking ignorance to public health.
'Into the Wood Chipper' by Nicholas Enrich is out tomorrow. Read excerpt here:
Who are these Red Sox?
Pretty sure the first Mats song I ever heard was Kiss Me on the Bus.
Not quite the same without Adam, but great seeing Fountains of Wayne again tonight in Boston as part of the Hot Stove, Cool Music event youtu.be/jaStCkSVTVE?...
Looking forward to it!
Decided to power this old thing up, throw in one of the tapes and see if it works. Haven’t turned it on in 40 years. And voila, it’s Cheap Trick coming on at number 34 in Casey’s 1979 year-end #AT40 countdown.
Apparently everyone I follow in Minnesota is at the Springsteen show tonight.
Probably THE song that originally cemented my lifelong love of and obsession with this band.
Another great Old 97s show in Boston last night. My fifth, I think, not counting a few Rhett solo shows. Band always brings it.
Good thing they outlawed those killer lawn jarts we had in the 70s.
Wish Albert was on Blueskee
And playing right here in my little hometown!
Ha, they were ahead of their time using cassettes. When I was 12, I taped it on my parents reel-to-reel deck, and then randomly taped Casey Kasem’s 1974 Year-end countdown on the rest of the tape.
Put a lot of effort into them when I was a kid, though even typing up lists with each song's position on each tape. Last couple years I swithced to cassettes, so may hang onto those, at least.
Yeah, that's a good idea, I'll check that out. If they weren't so clunky I'd try to digitize, but I know I'll never get around to that. Haven't listened to them in 40 years, so no idea what the sound quality is at this point, and really need to start paring down.
Question for @porpster.bsky.social or #AT40 fans. I have reel-to-reel tapes of Casey's year-end countdowns from 1974-1984. Even have the old Magnavox deck I taped them on, though doubt it still works. I assume these all exist online now, so just wondering if there's any value in keeping them?

The things you find when decluttering. I actually went and bought all the New York tabloids to revel in the Yankees misery after the Red Sox beat them in 2004.
How’d I forget there was a Spy TV show?
Anybody else read ”Graham Parker” every time they see “Graham Planter”?
Great space. Hopefully something good goes in there.
Only way I can possibly watch this.

what do i do when YouTube is down and that’s pretty much all i watch?
are we calling steel and concrete “content” now?
Yippee (said sarcastically) looks like we got the jackpot for new snow a week after the last two foot storm. I'm long past the age where I enjoy snow anywhere but in the mountains.
"'She put her finger right between my booty crack, so I grabbed her wrist quick and said, Hold up, slut, ain't nobody sticking nothing in my butt.' You think that's Kid Rock or Bad Bunny?"
"Why are you doing this to me?"
