“I want the destination to be the journey itself. All the steps between camps. All the hikes between the capes. All the delicate wildflowers and the rugged rocks. All the variations in the size of the surf and the colors of the sand.”

I’m running out of adjectives to describe how beautiful these days are on the Oregon Coast Trail.
And tonight, the sunset in Lincoln City left me speechless.
A whisper carried on the wind of the Oregon Coast trail tickles my ears. Sort of a high-pitched excited voice that introduces itself by saying “ITSA MEEE!”
It says if I eat these I’ll turn into Super Mario. I don’t believe it 😂

I will sleep now. I will sleep like a brick.
Ok Oregon, you’re really winning me over. Owner of Sleepy Monk Coffee in Gearhart was incredibly kind to me, and a lady walking her dog strolled by , saw my pack, and asked if I needed anything.
Day 2 has been wonderful. 13 miles down, 3 to go.
