After a 50-day hiatus I finally managed to make a new video and it's now live on the channel.
It's another Audio Autopsy episode and this time I present you three big boys in their genre.

That's fun. I also own an N4416. Here's mine.
Also, that metal Sony R-7MB spool is definitely worth saving. I have a couple like that and they're great.
Curious to know which machine you were inspecting.
That's the most optimistic packaging job I've even seen.
Glad you bought the version with a metal enclosure. Mine has a plastic case and wouldn't have survived that trip.
Haha, that's really nice to hear!
I still use mine regularly. It works really well when recapped and calibrated.
Just be careful when trying to adjust the coils. The ferrite cores break easily. Pots are not an issue obviously.
Good luck with it an maybe I'll see it in one of your future videos.
Nice! I have a restoration video about one like that on my channel, where I explain quite in depth how it works.

Oh man. I've been spending a week now redoing and redoing and redoing the lacquer on this radio and I can't seem to get it right. Looks like I'll have to restart AGAIN. FML
I have an old friend on the workbench. Hopefully in a video soon...
A vendor at my local flea market had 3 boxes full of new (in package) PC accessories from the early 2000s. Fans, CPU coolers, LEDs, cold cathodes, you name it. #retrocomputing

That's also how I sit in front of my printer watching it.
I haven't posted any videos lately and the reason is that I bought a 3D printer. Now this bad boy is extruding all remaining free time I still had in my life.
Currently I have it up and running pretty well, so I should be able to focus again on making videos soon.
Oh joy.
From across the Atlantic, I'm wishing you a lot of courage in these dark times. We are on your side.

@jeriellsworth.bsky.social Pinball loves you too!
Marantz makes some nice stuff, but boy I hate their remotes.
Testing some more vintage audio gear. This time a Hitachi tuner, a Kenwood amplifier and an Akai reel-to-reel machine.

My last video of the year.
Enjoy and see you in 2026!
FOR FUCKS SAKE.
While replacing some ceiling spotlights, I suddenly got a dose of PTSD induced by Half-Life. #retrogaming
Merry Christmas everyone!
So now I'm getting 5 (!) commercials every 2 minutes or so when I watch YouTube on my TV. Pretty much makes the app totally unusable. What the hell are they doing? Are they actively trying to ruin their own platform?
I generate codes with an old LG G5 (which still has an IR port) and an app.
Well, I've this bad boy on the bench...
I made a video about the repair I did on my Judge Dredd MPU board with battery leakage. It's online now. #retrocomputing #retrogaming #pinball

"Let's quickly burn an EPROM." is what I thought yesterday. Boy that turned out differently. Spent the entire evening trying to get my (almost) 30-year old programmer to work with Windows 11. But I finally got there in the end! #retrocomputing #retrogaming
It's not that bad. I have repaired much worse.
Due to the fact that I didn't spend much time in this hobby I haven't checked my machines for the past couple of years. But then again... it's not that one year of battery leakage will completely ruin your machine.
