Gus is also so sad. There has been much sighing and flomping down on to his belly. Woe is a dog who must live near rain.

I’ve taken to reading my book for 15 mins or so after waking up. Then getting up. Then having breakfast and coffee. And only then! Opening social media.

I went straight to socials today because new habits are hard and oooof

We played it on the computer and it is so silly and good

Four different hot cross buns. Back row is two classic 2x3 packs. Front left is a round wheel of 7 buns, one in the middle. Bottom right is a hot cross loaf.

Had to use the bench top oven so we got creative with which sized tins could fit. Also made a stash of biscotti cuz my neighbour enjoys it and she keeps dropping off 18 fresh eggs from her chocks and I gotta show my appreciation incase she doesn’t like buns

Full circle

I’m very excited for Saturday, where it’s the annual Easter auction, raising money for the local school to go on trips.

I’m gonna buy so many raffle tickets. I’m hoping I win the meat pack cuz we’re still stocking up our new secondhand freezer.

Rural life is really different but I spend more time out and about in the world and less time being angry on my phone and I think that’s a good thing overall.

Yesterday we met up with a new friend and their dog from the next town over.

Today after work I met with a local who trains dogs to practice new tricks and we laughed about the antics Gus got up to.

Tomorrow I’m baking for my closest neighbours

Community is right there.
