For “no real reason” I’m going to say how much I have loved the magic school, magical kids and meaningful exploration of history in @dhonielle.bsky.social’s Conjureverse series, in case anyone wants a series about magical kids.

As a children’s and YA author, I used to say that I’d never write an adult book … but here we go. Conjure the Bones, my love letter to Anne Rice, on its way soon! ⚜️💜💚🖤⚜️🎶🎵

I love people who read. Not just for fun but like as an everyday occurrence. People who stop to get the full scope of things before responding or ask questions before assuming they know the answer. I guess what I mean is, I love smart people.
The Marvellers by @dhonielle.bsky.social, The Witchlings by @claribelortega.com, Splinter & Ash by @mariekeyn.bsky.social, and Verity Vox and the Curse of Foxfire by @bydonmartin.bsky.social. And all the series from the Rick Riordan Presents imprint!
It's going to be a great week at BookBreak! We are excited to welcome Kate DiCamillo back to our elementary program on Tuesday. The incredible @dhonielle.bsky.social will be speaking to students on our high school program on Thursday. It will be a week of friendship and families. We can't wait!
We had an amazing time talking with @dhonielle.bsky.social today! She spoke about the importance of friendship and the joys of collaboration. We got a little insight into each of the co-authors of Blackout and we learned about the upcoming third novel in the series! What was your favorite part?
A reminder-there are really great books about magic that center Black & Brown & queer characters where profits don't go to tearing down trans community=The Marvellers @dhonielle.bsky.social; Nic Blake @angiethomas.bsky.social ; The Vanquishers-Kaylynn Bayron; Amari & The Night Brothers-B.B. Alston

I cannot tell you how grim the AI in higher ed situation is. Many of the students have completely surrendered to letting AI do their homework, badly, I might add. How do you fix this? Truly, what the hell do we do, beyond what grading can address, which isn't a solution?

“And then remember this. The Imperial need for control is so desperate because it is so unnatural. Tyranny requires constant effort. It breaks, it leaks. Authority is brittle. Oppression is the mask of fear.”-Nemik, 5 BBY
We can still save the Institute for Museum and Library Services. Here's a practical guide to what to do right now to save not just the agency's funding but its future all together.
Part of this is messaging on reauthorizing the Museum and Library Services Act.

As someone targeted by the ADL, this is welcome news: The National Education Association, the largest union in the US representing over 3 million members, voted to cut all ties with the Anti-Defamation League. www.labornotes.org/blogs/2025/0...
I'm highlighting the YA anthology UNBROKEN: 13 STORIES STARRING DISABLED TEENS, edited by Marieke Nijkamp (Farrar, Straus and Giroux, 2018). NOTE: The contributing authors include Kody Keplinger, Kristine Wyllys, Francisco X. Stork, William Alexander, Corinne Duyvis, Marieke Nijkamp, Dhonielle Clayton, Heidi Heilig, Katherine Locke, Karuna Riazi, Kayla Whaley, Keah Brown, and Fox Benwell. Each author identifies as disabled along a physical, mental, or neurodiverse axis—and their characters reflect this diversity. Be sure to also check out LISTEN: HOW EVELYN GLENNIE, A DEAF GIRL, CHANGED PERCUSSION, written by Shannon Stocker, illustrated by Devon Holzwarth (Dial Books, 2022), which won the Schneider Family Book Award. Plus, I'm sharing the cover of my own MG novel, SISTERS OF THE NEVERSEA, cover art by Floyd Cooper (Heartdrum, 2021) because I drew on my own diagnosis/experience with anxiety in writing the character of Lily Roberts, a modern reimagination of Tiger Lily.
Disability Pride Month is an international celebration that occurs annually in July. It grew from a celebratory day to honor the passing of the Americans with Disabilities Act in July 1990. #booksky

This is what sane countries do, but instead the US has immoral conspiracy theorists like Alex Jones pretending that children didn't die, parents weren't grieving, and kids haven't been traumatized, because it's a hoax to take away your gunnnnnnnns.
Good doggie
They want slavery back and they are saying it to our faces
